Slowly, balls of water formed between Winston and Jacqueline's hands. "Open your eyes."

The two siblings looked at the waterballs in their hands. "We did that?"

Cassare grinned.

"Wait a minute." Winston held up his hand. "The house is an illusion. How can real fire burn down any illusion? This is probably a trick."

Jacqueline's eyes widened. They glowed the same navy blue. "I agree with that!"

Cassare looked at the two children, who slowly lost their glow. "Were you supposed to be glowing like that?"

"Yeah! We're Void users!" The girl and the boy enthusiastically nodded.

"So am I! How about I train you two?" Cassare grinned on the inside. Finally, more Void users!

"Please? You really would?" The girl made puppy-eyes at her.

"Our parents don't like that we're Voidesses and Voidens. They're Hope users." Her brother added.

"Well... Ms Aqua, do you mind if I borrow them for a while? They need to learn to control their power."

Cassare spotted Ryu. "Oi, Ryuichi! You seen Valerie? I need to—whoa!"

She ducked as a claw narrowly missed her head.

Oh you just did not! Nebula launched herself at one of the monsters, glowing brightly and growling in ancient Voidage.

BT-BT-BTZHAPPPP

A very smoked monster fell to the ground, both bloody and on fire from Jalila's fireballs. Nebula darted about, clamping onto a monster's head and teleporting it to goodness knew where.

Her owner blinked. "Uh... Ryu? Are those kids supposed to be riding on that monster?"

She pointed at two children, glowing navy blue, holding each horn and riding on it.

	Cassare was hungry, so she headed to the nearest cafe to get a salad and a smoothie. Halfway to the city, the fresh, beautiful smell of bread entered her nose. Her cat ears twitched. Was there a bakery nearby? Some bread could do the trick... Phasing to ghost mode, she pushed through the undergrowth and started to follow the scent. [Read more]

Cassare petted the manticore, all the while talking to Dr. Roslyn. "...and then he cut its arm off."

" Aw, poor thing. It's going to need some time in the veterinary. Do you mind that?" Dr. Roslyn gently ruffled the manticore's fur.

"I don't mind. When it's all right, then I'm going to release it back to the Void."

"Actually, do you know a girl called Valerie?" The doctor looked at the hydrokinetic curiously.

"...yeah, why'd you ask?"

"Oh, the other day, she came in and left a Balefire Phoenix in my care. Do you mind if you could tell her that I've healed Drana's broken wing?"

Cassare mentally reminded herself to ask Valerie. "I can do that."

"Thank you! I still have some Fire Crocodiles to deal with, and she hasn't shown up since she admitted her pet."

Cassare sighed. "Yeah, she's like that. Does something and forgets about it. Anyways, goodbye and thank you!"

With a final scritch to the manticore's neck, she phased out the door and away.
