Four Kingdoms existed in the Hub.
To the North, in the plains, lived the Pawle, a fierce and honourable people with warriors of legend.
To the South, by the Great Ocean lived the Mass, a monopoly of traders and commerce, a land of fortune.
To the West, in the Forests, lived the mysterious Estro, who had hidden themselves away from the others.
To the East , in the Greats Mountains, lived the Eldars, who were the most powerful of all.

These Great Kingdoms had lived in an alliance of sorts for many millennia. No major tensions existed between the leaders of each Kingdom and their respective armies had declined in strength during this peace. However, there is a disturbance in the Wasteland, the Forbidden Lands where Chaos resided. Each Kingdom has sent a group to investigate. Little do the know what their actions will bring...

Name: Jack of Blades
Gender: Male
Age: Eons
Appearance:
Kingdom: Chaos
Role in Kingdom: Lord
History: Jack of Blades is a figure which has terrorised people since the dawn of time. Due to his long life span, theories have arisen that there have been several Jacks throughout the ages. This gave rise to the belief that it is not the person to be feared, but the Soul Mask he wears. Immensely powerful, Jack invaded the Hub in a massive (war) and ruled the Hub for several thousand years in the past. Eventually, he was pushed back into the Void by Heroes and was erased from history books. He receded to being nothing more than a bedtime story to scare kids. Recently, sightings of Jack in the Hub have increased.
Powers: Jack possesses huge stores of magic and is an expert at using them. Beyond this, he is a legendary swordsman and can cut even the most skilled of opponents to pieces in seconds.
Personality: Jack is cold and calculating with a hunger for power, though he is an expert at playing the long game. Can be cruel.
Other: From the Fable Universe

Name: Samuel Vimes
Gender: Male
Age: 45
Appearance:
Kingdom: Eldar
Role in Kingdom: Head of Combined Guard
History: Vimes was the son of a Palace Guard and followed in his Father's footsteps. When raiders broke into the citadel, he, his father and the previous Head were the only things keeping them from Lord Vetinari's office. The previous Head and his father both died in the fight, but he was able to fend off the remaining attackers. As a reward, he was promoted to the position of Head Guard.
Powers: Stronger than most people and adept with almost all weapons.
Personality: Vimes is a very conflicted character: an incorruptible idealist with deep beliefs in justice and an abiding love of his city, he is also a committed cynic whose knowledge of human nature constantly reminds him how far off those ideals are. A member of the upper classes, he still has an innate dislike of hereditary wealth and a horror of social inequality. The Patrician observes that Vimes is anti-authoritarian even though he is, himself, an authority figure.
Other: From the Discworld Universe

Name: Havelock Vetinari
Gender: Male
Age: 50
Appearance:
Kingdom: Eldar
Role in Kingdom: Leader
History: Vetinari trained in the Assassin's Guild in Ankh-Morpok and was altogether far too good for it, scaring his teachers. As a member of the nobility, he took many important decisions and decided that the current Lord did not know how to run things. As everyone agreed with him, there were no problems when he single-handedly took the palace. He runs a one man, one vote system, as in HE is the man and HE gets the vote. Some consider this tyranny and Vetinari agrees, saying it is the only form of democracy that works. He keeps power by ensuring that a future without him is ever so slightly worse than a future with him.
Powers: Is extremely stealthy and fast due to his previous training. Is an absolute genius otherwise.
Personality: Vetinari is a patient person with very few apparent flaws. He remains calm and has a way of arranging events to suit him. Getting into a conversation with him is dangerous as he will always find something it is impossible to reply to. Uses irony and sarcasm instead of raising his voice or showing anger.
Other: Discworld Universe

Redwood looked around.
"To hell with it. If you need water to heal her, you can have this." Redwood offered his water bottle to Sliuril. Following his lead, the other soldiers also unclipped their bottles from their belts and held them forward.
"We can walk for a day in a desert, don't worry about that." the sergeant nodded

"Err... if we stretch it..." Redwood looked around. Five humans, one of them SPARTAN. The suit would provide her with water and nutrients. Four humans, then. Two Immortals and two dragons... make that one dragon and one... thing, Redwood though as Jack changed back. "I mean, I think only we four will need water for now, right? So, enough for a few days. Unless you'll need water before that." he said.

"No arguments. I'm much more often tasked with killing than protecting." Jack nodded. "Stand back, please."
B Company took a few steps back.
"...bit more."
They complied.
Jack turned into his dragon form and swiftly jumped into the air. He hovered for a while, doing a complete 360 turn, before dropping back to the ground. "There seems to be a large monument to the North. It will take about a day to reach it." he reported. "Still, it's the only landmark around. We should head for it."

(We head to the City of Aurora)

Sarge raised an eyebrow at Faith, though it was hard to tell if he was angry or amused. Then he turned away. Redwood felt it was rather cruel, but there was a formality to be fulfilled, and all helmet-cams were recording. And, after all, she was a SPARTAN. He walked over to Naomi. Central's general instructions were to bark orders, but he took one look at the SPARTAN and decided Central could go stuff itself. "Err... soldier... if you feel up to it... self-assessment and damage report." he muttered, somewhat shyly. It always felt awkward giving orders to SPARTANs and ODSTs, but he often found himself in such situations.

Marlowe tapped Redwood on the shoulder. "Do we have any idea where we're going, Sarge?" He whispered.
"Forward." Redwood replied, stepping over rubble on the floor.
"What do you reckon is out there?"
"Just keep your eyes on the thermals, kid."
Marlowe nodded. Right now, pointing at the light, it seemed that it was hot beyond the exit. Very, very hot.
Jack took note of their chatter. Clearly, they were nervous. To the Sergeant's credit, he was hiding it rather well. As for the others... he idly wondered which one would break down first. He looked at light Sliuril had conjured, considered it a waste of energy to add his own, and continued walking.

Sarge, naturally, took point, with Jack besides him. "I'm considering it may have been a mistake coming here." Sarge muttered to Jack. Jack 'hmph'ed. "It could be worse." Jack said.
"How so?"
"Could have been more of them."
Redwood carefully considered this for a moment. "You know what? I think you're right. Best not to complain."

Locke stumbled through the shadows. "Regroup!" he shouted. No reply. He knew Locus was here somewhere...
A large, hooded figure suddenly appeared in front of him.
"JAMESON LOCKE?"
"Maybe... maybe not. Depends on who's asking."
"YOU DO REALIZE WHAT HAS HAPPENED, YES?
Locke nodded carefully.
The figure stayed still for a while and then turned and began striding away. Locke hesitated, and then followed it into the mist.

While his men did a final sweep of the room, Sarge came over to Sliuril and looked at Naomi. "How is she?" he asked. Jack also came over, if only to see what the Darkness had done to the SPARTAN. "Clear!" Haggard reported from somewhere behind them.

Sarge and his men quickly took stock of the new situation and loaded HE rounds into theirs clips instead of the normal AP and Haggard started using the grenade launcher mounted to his gun. Jack simply palmed the sharpening augmentation in the Sword and started cutting through the statues like a hot knife through butter.

Jack swung the Sword to deadly effect, the shadows melting before him. The Sword hummed with deadly energy, hungry for more.
Suddenly, a voice came from the darkness.
"The Children have bodies now. Bodies that can tear you asunder!" the voice growled.
Statues near the walls started rotating to look towards the group.

The shadows surged forward as one, a wave of darkness. Redwood and his men opened fire and Jack got ready with his sword. The laughing grew louder, drowning out the gunfire.
