Shade, Wraith, and May had just finished cleaning up the town, and helped the surviving citizens set up a barricade to keep zombies out the best they could. Now their goal, was to survive. They had no other choice, Shade was still trying to get over having to kill his mother before she ate him, he didn’t want to do it though. Wraith, now wondering what his next step was, sat down on a tree stump, pondering what he had to do. “Shade,” May walked over to the stunned teen, “I’m really sorry for what you had to do. I know it’s not my fault, but still.”
“It’s fine, I suppose. I just didn’t want her to die like that. I knew I should have stayed in town for our date today.”
“You know bro, you need to stop moping around, Mom is in a better place. Stop beating yourself up kid.” Wraith walked over to Shade. “She was bound to go someday anyway. So don’t worry about it.”
“But, she was our mother. I didn’t want her to die.”
Wraith slapped Shade in the face, “Snap out of it you moron! You need to move on from that. We need to look for any survivors. The first place we need to check out is the Platinum Islands people stranded there may be having the same problem.”
“You’re right bro. Let’s get moving, May I think it be best if you stay here. This is going to be dangerous work.”
