“Here, Tiger,” Connor offered Tiger an ice pack with cautious green eyes. The colors were all over the place today. He was going to need a serious power nap (or maybe Orpheus could knock him out? That would work too) after this. Maybe Mel left her door unlocked again? He could seriously go for that nap as soon as everyone was settled and more or less okay. When he’d left, Orpheus had managed to pin both Aki and Riu, so he was curious as to how it played out. He hadn’t gotten any texts either, so he assumed it was still an ongoing fight. Oh well. He’d always liked watching their little fights. It reminded him of how close they all were. Mostly because of Aki. Aki always made the fights more entertaining because damn, was he fast (Poor Riu; Still the shortest, but hey, not the slowest! One step up, buddy). Connor couldn’t help but grin when Watt evolved. “Hmm?” Mel wasn’t really listening, blue eyes fastened on the Pokédex on her lap. “Wha’zhat?” Connor didn’t really notice that she wasn’t listening. “I don’t have a flying type.” “Mhm. That’s nice. You can borrow mine, if you’d like.” He raised one eyebrow in response. “Who? You lost Toffee.” Sky blue eyes shot up to meet forest green. “Are you— Oh my god, I forgot. Damn. I got nothin’, then. Sorry.” Connor shrugged. “‘S fine. She misses you, by the way.” Mel smiled honestly for the first time in a long time. “Thanks, Con.” The peaceful atmosphere was immediately broken by Riu and Aki as the Lucario vaulted over the couch and dashed past, shrieking something about pillowcases and glitter. Pom was cackling somewhere in the background as Aki appeared, throwing himself after Riu. The Gallade was covered in sparkles and glitter, much to his chagrin and Riu and Pom’s obvious delight. “.. They’re going to get themselves killed one of these days.” Connor mused, watching as Aki literally threw himself into Riu and sent the both of them sprawling o the floor. From the kitchen, Mel let out a shout of laughter as she appeared in the hallway, leaning against the wall with a faint smirk. “Do it.” She egged then on. That was all the Pokémon needed to burst free of Pom’s grip and lunge at Aki, knocking him off the couch and onto the floor. ”RIU.” Cackling, Riu withdrew and vaulted over the couch and locked himself in the bathroom. ”MEL—“ Mel soon followed in suit, locking herself in the kitchen. ”POM. See? She doesn’t think you’re a criminal, so I have no problem with her. I better be invited to the wedding, though. Setting the dex down on the floor next to him, Connor rolled onto his side and pushed himself into a sitting position to check on the others. It wasn’t surprising to see Mel knocked out leaning against the wall, completely engulfed in blankets. Orpheus and Ao were with her, and they seemed to be asleep too. Meanwhile, the couch was a little bit emptied than it had been twenty minutes prior. Aki and Riu had wiped out on the floor and ended up just staying there (Aki had been less than pleased, but Riu had immediately fallen asleep), and Pom was still curled up on the couch, bright eyes watching Connor curiously. Red eyes flashed as Aki shifted a bit to look at Connor too. “How is he?” Aki hesitated briefly before holding one paw up and pressing it against the Lucario’s forehead. Nothing. He didn’t rip his paw back, he didn’t scream. No nightmares. Finally. Aki nodded in response to Connor’s question before settling back down and wrapping himself in a blanket (probably stealing from Riu too). Connor smiled faintly and dropped back down onto the floor, letting his eyes slide closed. [Read more] |

Five years? Yikes. Did you catch up?” The laptop was closed and Aki yawned, placing it on the table in front of them as he leaned back into the cushions, dragging all the Pokémon with him. ”Are any of you still awake?” Pom was! The rest of them were completely out of it. Which was more like a “finally” sort of thing, since Ao has been exhausted all day and Riu was usually too paranoid, so it was nice to see them resting against each other. And asleep too. The Pokédex buzzed and Mel was on it in a second. “Who’s that?” Connor snatched it away from her. “None of your business!” “It’s always my business? Is it your boyfriend?” “No, it’s not!” Mel burst into sudden laughter that startled Aki and caused Riu to launch the remote at her. “I knew it! I knew you were dating!” Scarlet was a good color on Connor’s ears. “I never said that!” But Mel was already up and skipping away, presumably to lock herself in the bathroom and wait for him to calm down. “Connor and Xavier, sittin’ in a tree. K-I-S-S-I-N-G!” She cackled as the door shut behind her. ”’Wonder how Oaki and Helio are?” Aki mused, settling down beside Riu again. The Lucario shrugged in response, red eyes glued to the laptop screen. uhhhh “Oh man what a shocker” Why, something exciting happen? Connor sent the message with one eyebrow cocked, green eyes bright with curiosity as he rolled into his stomach. I wonder how Vier and Lea are? It had been a while since he’d seen them. “Two!” “Five.” “.. Green.” “You don’t have the same number, how can you change it?!” Connor was grinning, holding up his cards to muffle his laughter. “You didn’t specify!” On the other side of the table, Mel was honestly half fuming half laughing. “It’s uno, I shouldn’t have to specify!” She was smiling despite herself, those blue eyes gleaming with a comfortable familiarity. On the couch behind them, Riu, Pom, Aki and Ao had situated themselves around the laptop, watching The Avengers for the fourth time in two days. Orpheus had long since wandered off, and Simon was curled up on Connor’s lap. Midori was asleep on the floor behind him. “Specify the rules next time!” Connor giggled, hiding his cards behind Simon’s head. “I will!” Mel shot back, grinning widely. Yeah. It was nice to be able to talk with her. Things had changed, people had changed, but her voice hadn’t. It was still soft pink. Comfortable, compared to the sudden change in color Snow’s voice had taken on. Connor was determined to find a way to change how he saw that voice, because Snow’s voice was really nice. Oh well.
