"Bounce off...?" He thought for a moment. "Sure! Sounds good." "only if that works for you," he heard Audax mumble quietly, amidst the chatting of the restaurant. Fortem's first impression of Audax was just that he was pretty polite and shy, a lot like he was before meeting Emerald. He was walking lightly beside Emerald, as if he was trying to sneak around. His tail was held low to the ground, like it was saying "don't mind me". All the knights had told him it was a good idea to try and get a grasp of who someone was by the way they presented themself, but to be open to being very wrong. Fortem found it was a good and fun exercise to pass the time.

Fortem trotted after his friend, following close behind. His sensitive nose twitched at all of the scents - the moist island smell, the scent of flowers, and now, the smell of food.

Audax went and unpacked his few items into his room - namely books, he didn't want to lose any of them. The flight had somehow exhausted him, and he followed the smell of pancakes and other breakfast foods until he reached one of the many resturaunts of the hotel. If paradise had a smell, this would be it. He'd caught up to Emerald and Fortem. Half of him wanted to pad up and say hi, but the other, more anxious part of him, held his paws firmly to the ground he stood. He didn't want to mess anything up.

Audax's head turned quickly in the voice's direction, and he padded up, his tail waving, as he was happy to know someone here. "Hi Emerald!" He said, his voice barely audible amidst the chaotic cacophony of the other pokemon in the lobby.

Fortem tilted his head. "Who's this?" He looked at the eevee, who seemed to be struggling under the weight of a bag that seemed as heavy as him, before turning back to his Riolu best friend.

The duo neared the entrance of hotel, and Fortem admired the hall once again from the glass-walled elevator.

Audax looked in amazement at the hall, filled with pokemon of every species, and decorated with flowers and such... even more than he'd seen in images. He mentally checked the date... it was Friday, so there should be a dance party of sorts today? He'd have to learn more. He checked in for a day, relieved to be sure he had enough coins. He was given a room key, which he tucked into a pocket of his bag, then headed to the lifts. Audax looked up at the roof; even the rafters were decorated. Suddenly, the doors opened, and, eyes unfocused, he bumped into someone...

Fortem walked through with a "thanks", his paws guiding him down the hall as he just thought about random things.

Audax thought of the scenes he'd seen in the clouds. The wispy, pink-tinted clouds, the beaches as white as the fluff on his neck... it was a pity it would be really hard to paint up there. Still, you could probably get in some amazing paintings in from the ground, not that he was such an artist. He walked over to the door of the resort hotel, which wasn't far away.

Fortem nodded, his blue eyes - he'd shifted into day form - flickering back to the map and guide pamphlet. "No morning activities... well, makes sense, this party has to be a huge thing!" His paws thudded across the tan, carpeted floor. "Want to walk around and look at the decorations and island, or something?" He suggested. His belly growled as he added: "And maybe get something to eat, as well."

"Thats cool!" Fortem paused. "Is it that guy, perhaps...?" He pointed to a small picture on their map and activities pamphlet showing what appeared to be a portrait image of a yellow rufflet, with... a tambourine on his head? "Interesting fashion choice," He commented, a grin on his face. "But it must come in handy sometimes."

Audax knew about this cannon, as he'd done a little research in advance to make sure he knew what was going on, and there would be no huge surprises. Still, he shook with nervousness and excitement as he was guided towards the cannon, and inside. He folded his ears back, and clutched his paws close to his belly, a much more aerodynamic and comfortable position.

Fortem awoke in his dusk form. It was strange, he always did, even though the name was misleading. Did that mean that dusk form was also sort of dawn form in a way? Putting aside the thought, he got up, doing his daily morning stretch on the balcony. "Wow, look at this!" Fortem called out to Emerald. "The whole island is preparing for something. It's all decorated and everything!" He paused, taking in all of the flowery smells and noises of water. "I bet its for the dance party thing that's happening today."

Audax awoke in his bed in Luminia, as per usual. He's already had his early morning shift at Remus's place (more customers came in than you might expect), and was only expected at the school of magic in another day. Audax actually had something special planned for today... He'd been saving up his coins for a trip to the second island attatched to Luminia. He'd never been, but he'd heard a lot about how it was a nice, tropical place to relax and have fun. Audax thought that was exactly what he needed right now. He packed a couple berries and stuffed his bag full of his saved up coins, and trotted over to the top of the massive cloud island.

"And this is all complimentary with our room?" Fortem asked alloud, in awe. He took a bite of his desert, a berry flavoured creme brulee. It sure was an expensive room, but wow, the service seemed worth it. The topic of money made Fortem think about the future... he had enough to support himself for a while from his family and doing various jobs at the arena in luminia, but eventually, he'd have to find a way to make more than that. He shook off the thought. Now wasn't the time to stress out about random things.

"...I guess I'll just ask for recommendations from the servers and chefs," Fortem decided, as they waited. "But..." He tapped a claw on one of the typed lines on the menu: A mago berry smoothie. "I think I'll start with this." He smiled.

This time between day and night always made Audax think: What eeveelution would he evolve into? It didn't really matter to anyone really, but it was fun for him to ponder, and a little stressful too, for an unknown reason. He carefully avoided stones, not wanting to evolve by accident, and although it was his choice, he had a hard time deciding, like with most things. He would probably evolve into an espeon or umbreon just by chance, or have a run in with an evolutionary stone, before he could make up his mind. With a sigh, he plopped his bag down onto the floor of his little house, and curled up on his bed. He would spend a night in this one before trying out the balloon Remus had gotten him.
