Nightmare, to Aloe: *Nightmare's eyes widen a bit.* No, I-I didn't mean we had dragonets when we were 6! I meant that I asked Buzzard out on our first date when we were 6. Relationships aren't meant to be rushed, and you've only been together for a few days at most. I suggest waiting at least a year, and if the relationship is still going well by then, you can propose if you're really sure you want to. …Don't tell Autumn I told you this. *He winks at Aloe as Stargazer sits next to Cryo and Autumn comes back with Lotus, still holding the small tree in her arms.*

Stargazer, to Cryo: Yeah, you uh… Well, to put it bluntly, you basically had a crashout.

Axolotl's POV

Axolotl, to Starfruit: …Dooooo you wanna go back to the beach? Oh, um, I also have something to tell you. *She takes a deep breath, steeling herself.* I'm an animus. Yeah, I've been one since I hatched. Please don't tell anyone I don't want to know yet, okay? *She picks up a seashell.*

Axolotl: I enchant this seashell to turn into a small likeness of Starfruit. *The seashell distorts and changes shape in her hands until it looks like a figurine of Starfruit. Axolotl gives it to her and a small smile tugs at her lips.*

*Nightmare points at Cryo with a talon as Stingray gathers up some scrolls he'd gotten out.*

Stingray: Well, I'd better go check on Axolotl. I've been on this beach for a while, heh. *After waving bye, Stingray jumps into the water and starts swimming back to the Deep Palace.*

Stargazer: You- You're still on the beach.

Wolf's POV

Wolf: *As Snowstroller leaves, Wolf steps back and snorts.* Hey! You didn't answer the question! …*Sigh…*

Autumn: *Autumn took a moment to process Lotus's response and blushed when she realized what she said.* …Oh! O-oh. Y-yeah, when we're, uh, o-older. Yeah.

Stargazer: *The NightWing perked up when she heard Cryo's voice, realizing that he was okay after all. She ran over to him and tried to help him stand up.* Cryo! You're okay! Oh, I was so worried about you! You've been out for like, almost a week! I think.

Nightmare: Welcome back to reality, Cryo.

Corvid's POV

*Corvid finally made it back to the Sky Kingdom, landing in a small patch of forest near the palace to rest for an hour or two. A crow flies down and sits on his shoulder, poofing up its feathers comfortably. Another dragon who looks a lot like Corvid steps out of the bushes nearby and approaches him.*

Autumn: *Autumn tilted her head to face Lotus, taking another bite of salmon as she does.* Huh? S-sure! Um, I'm a LeafWing, but that was already obvious. This, uh, scar on my arm is from a HiveWing that attacked me once…

Stargazer's POV

*Stargazer listened to the conversation between Aloe and Blackberry, trying to to think about anything in case they'd hear her and learn she can read minds as well. Stingray looked at the two dragons staring at each other with confusion on his face.*

Stingray: Why are they staring at each other? Are they both mindreaders? Maybe they're talking to each other. *He looks at Nightmare, noticing his silver teardrop scales.* So I guess Nightmare can hear them as well… *Nightmare tilts his head in curiosity as he hears their thoughts.*

Stargazer, to Aloe and Blackberry: W-why are you staring at each other? *She knows that they're talking telepathically, but saying so might reveal her powers.*

Wolf's POV

*Iceberg giggles, but quickly puffs his little chest out to be "scary". Wolf's expression softens slightly for a moment, which is unusual for her, and Frostbite smiles at Iceberg.*

Wolf: But- But you don't need to spy on us to be "playing in the snow."

*Wolf and Frostbite both stepped back, neither of them expecting Snowy to ask about the IceWing animus history. Wolf steadied herself and huffed, puffing her chest out a bit. Iceberg did the same, but it was less intimidating.*

Wolf: We… We had it for a while. But then the NightWings stole it from us. As far as I know, there hasn't been an IceWing animus in centuries, thanks to Darkstalker… *Frostbite flinched at the mention of Darkstalker, feeling a bit guilty that he was already 7 and still hadn't told his siblings about his power. Iceberg tilted his head in confusion for a moment and looked at Wolf.*

Iceberg: Wolf, how long is a century?

Wolf: A hundred years.

Iceberg: Wooooah, that's a big number…

*Autumn listened to what Lotus had to say, nodding every now and then to show that she was understanding it. She gladly accepts the salmon and takes a bite.*

Stargazer: *She got pulled out of her thoughts by the sound of Aloe's voice, twitching her wings back and refocusing.* Huh? Oh, I'm Stargazer.

Wolf's POV

*Wolf stops circling Snowstroller for a moment, and Iceberg flaps down next to her.*

Wolf: …I noticed. That explains who you are, but not why you were spying on us.

Blizzard: I'm just… Gonna go take a nap. We flew for like, two days or so to get here… *Blizzard walks off in the direction of his home, and Frostbite watches him walk off before turning back to the others.*

*Wolf eyed Snowstroller suspiciously, taking closer notice of her NightWing features. She stepped back at the mention of the City of Night, and Iceberg clung to her shoulder tighter.*

Wolf: W-what?! The NightWing Kingdom was- No, never mind. …Wait, did you say you're from the City of Night? But then aren't you… *She narrows her eyes at Snowy.* IceWings aren't hatched in NightWing cities. What are you hiding…?

Iceberg, similarly glaring: What is you hidin'?

*Wolf finally takes notice of Snowstroller's appearance, and she steps back in alarm as she remembers when Darkstalker tried to wipe out the IceWing tribe with a plague. She stares at the smaller dragon with a mixture of unease and suspicion on her face, circling her like an orca herding seals together. Iceberg starts to toddle around Snowstroller as well, mimicking his big sister's expression and actions. Blizzard makes note of Wolf's reaction.*

Blizzard: Seems like someone else's finally noticed Snowstroller's…uncanny similarities to Darkstalker. Why hasn't Iceberg reacted? Maybe he's not old enough to know about Darkstalker yet…

Wolf: A-an IceWing who's never been to the Ice Kingdom? I find that incredibly hard to believe. Then where did you hatch? If not from here, then where?

Iceberg: Where- Oof! *Iceberg trips on Wolf's tail and lands face-first in a snow poff, quickly getting up and shaking snow off of his face and wings before climbing up his sister's arm and sitting there, like an owl perching in a tree.*

Autumn's POV

*Autumn walked into the forest calmly, looking for Lotus. She stopped every now and then to admire the flora around her; the trees with their leaves gracefully swaying in the wind, the flowers with their vibrant colors, and even some mosses and ferns growing on fallen trees. She eventually finds Lotus, approaching her slowly.*

Autumn: I-I'm here… What did you wanna, um, talk about?

Corvid's POV

*The NightWing/SkyWing hybrid could finally see the SkyWing palace from where he was. He hadn't been flying for more than a few hours or so, but he was always a fast flier. A murder of crows flew beside him, cawing at him as if he were one of them. He did a barrel roll and burst forward towards the Sky Kingdom, still surrounded by the sleek black birds.*

Stargazer's POV

*Stargazer started to zone out in her thoughts again, blankly staring at the sunset with her wings drooping. Nightmare noticed her expression and chuckled, remembering how often his own face had that look when he was her age. He looks at Cryo, starting to get very concerned by how long the IceWing's been unconscious for. Stingray notices Nightmare's face and walks over to Cryo, putting a talon on his neck.*

Stingray: …Well, he still has a pulse. It's been a while, though. I'm a bit concerned for him.

Stargazer: I hope Cryo's alright. He's been unconscious for hours. Do animus dragons normally have outburts like that? I've never seen another animus do what he did before. Is Frostbite missing me right now? Is Axolotl alright? And what about Starfruit?

Nightmare: Calm down, Star. I'm sure everyone's perfectly fine. You're getting too worked up.

Stargazer: Y-yeah, maybe you're right… *She turns to look at Cryo, genuinely concerned for him.*

Frostbite's POV

*Iceberg giggled and let out another squeaky roar, poking at one of Snowstroller's horns as Frostbite ran over and scooped him up in his arms. The dragonet squirmed around angrily, trying to escape his big brother's hold, and Wolf giggled at his show of "ferocity".*

Iceberg: Hey! Put me down! I's gotta be scary and fierce like my sister! *Iceberg rolled over and stared at Snowstroller.* State your name and businesses! Don't make me go all "raaaar" and frostbreathe on you!

Frostbite: *He tightened his grip on Iceberg, trying not to drop him as he wiggles around and squeaks.* I am so sorry, he's not usually- *Iceberg blows a puff of frostbreath in Frostbite's face, making him drop him. As Frostbite rubs the ice off of his snout, the young IceWing runs in front of Snowstroller and snarls at her, trying to be menacing as he flares his small wings.* …Like this.

Wolf, to Snowstroller: Seriously, who are you and why are you here?

*Stargazer flinched, not expecting to hear a dragon to jump into a random bush, then steadied herself. Nightmare watches Sage head off, then turns to the rest of the group.*

*Stingray stared at Aloe for a few moments, processing a few thoughts before answering him. Nightmare's been quietly observing the other dragons for the most part, but he looks at Sage with a hint of concern upon hearing his thoughts.*

Stingray: Oh! My apologies for not introducing myself. My name is Stingray. It's a pleasure to meet you. *He holds an ink-stained talon in front of Aloe, offering a handshake. It's clear that he's an author, judging by the ink on his talons and face.*

Stargazer: That's a nice name. *She smiles shyly and tries to think of something to say next.* …

Frostbite's POV

Wolf, noticing the dragonet: Iceberg! What are you-

Iceberg: Raaar! *The tiny IceWing pounces on Snowstroller, scrambling up her neck and sitting on her head. He starts trying to scratch her with his tiny claws, but they're too dull to do any damage. Frostbite quickly runs over to make sure that his baby brother is okay as Blizzard follows behind.*

*Stargazer turns to face Hummingbird, refocusing her attention on her surroundings rather than the thoughts in everyone's heads. Autumn smiles at Lotus and fidgets with her bracelet, tugging it up and down her arm as she nods in response. Stingray looks at Aloe curiously.*

Stargazer: …Huh? Oh, y-yeah!

Autumn: S-sure. It might be nice to go sit in the forest for a bit…

Stingray: I wonder how an animus would even word the enchantment to cause a weapon to inflict a wound like that. It seems more complicated than most animus spells I've heard. …I-I myself am not an animus dragon, but SeaWings tend to have a lot of those.

Frostbite's POV

*Wolf started running at Snowstroller, determined to figure out who they were and their motive for being here. Frostbite whirled around, and soon recognized the eavesdropping dragon as the hybrid he met earlier. Blizzard noticed a small shape quickly heading towards Wolf and managed to recognize it as an IceWing dragonet, no more than one or two years old.*

Frostbite: Wait! Wolf, she's not-!

Axolotl: Hey, that is not true. You're not stupid, okay? The others should be jealous of your wings. Who told you you were stupid?! *She curls her lip back angrily at the idea of someone calling her friend stupid.*

Frostbite's POV

*Frostbite blushed with mild embarrassment and glared at his older sister, a small puff of ice crystals escaping his snout as he snorts.*

Frostbite: I don't like her that much…

Wolf, rolling her eyes: Sure. *Wolf spots Snowstroller watching them, and narrows her eyes for a moment to check if she's seeing a dragon or a seal. She flares her wings and turns to directly face Snowstroller.* Hey! Who are you, and why are you spying on us?!

Blizzard: I knew I heard someone! Who's there?!

*Corvid flew across the sky, looking for any prey he might be able to catch to take a break from flying. He spots a sheep, and focusing on it, he enters a dive directly towards it and snatches it up in his talons, swiftly killing and then eating it.*

Nightmare: *The huge NightWing cranes his head down to face the notably smaller dragonet, narrowing his eyes as he closely examines the spot.* …It's probably just a defect. I one saw a SandWing who hatched with 6 claws one one talon, so a black spot isn't too abnormal.

Stargazer: You mean Six-claws?

Nightmare: Yes. *He chuckles with amusement.* Very creative name.
