It was clearly scrawled on his face as his eyebrows slightly furrowed in response. "I meant this... forest(?). Is it familiar to you? I don't remember how I got here whatsoever. I just woke up too," he clarified, taking a few steps back from the girl as an uncomfortable atmosphere got in between the two. "D-do you want me to leave you alone? I'm sorry if I scared or disturbed you in any way," he asked, while backing a little. Not looking at the ground, he could hear a thud of a small object at his feet. Looking down, he picked up the small, fluffy item to reveal a wind up toy chick, it's black bead eyes staring back at him. While it tugged at him, he simply couldn't remember what significance the toy had, he held onto it, feeling some sort of connection to the toy, and gripped it in his left fist. His ears perked up at the mention of the two planning to move towards them and he briefly caught the small warning from the other person. What did he mean by standing in one place for too long? Why was it dangerous? Feeling curios, and slightly scared, he showed himself to the other two, peering out from behind the trees. "What happens when you stay still for too long?" 𝕃𝕦𝕔𝕚𝕦𝕤 ℂ𝕠𝕣𝕖𝕟𝕥𝕚𝕟 " He had those kind eyes; That shone with the light of 'Everything will be okay' " He let out a small groan as he rubbed his eyes, like he had just awoken from long months of slumber. He felt the blades of grass brush against his pale skin, illuminated by the warm glow of the sunlight breaking through the forest canopy. He could hear the sound of nature, the slow rush of the wind and water playing a soft melody with the rustling leaves. He was unfamiliar with the place, with no memory but his name, and was more lost as he had woken up alone in the middle of greenery. However, he didn't panic nor did he feel any hint of fear. Instead, he simply laid down further, enjoying the peace nature had to offer for a moment before he heard the sound of a distant chatter. With the realisation that he wasn't alone here, he got up, his muscles surprisingly not sore even when he'd probably been sleeping for a long time, and followed the voices that echoed throughout the woods. He could see two figures having a nice conversation between the creak of the trees he was peeking from, though he didn't want to disturb the two so he backed away from his spot, yet he did feel a little wave of relief trickle through him knowing he had company in this unfamiliar world. He decided to wander around a little to get to know the place better. Most people wouldn't be too fascinated with the boring trees that looked identical to the next nor would they pay attention to the finest detail of the moss climbing up the tree barks. The boy, however, saw it all through different eyes. He watched in awe at the scene before him, like one would see beautiful art. His eyes made out dragons from the vines and fairies from the occasional sprouts of yellow flowers. While he was busy entertaining his fantasy thoughts, he crossed paths with another person, a girl. She looked like she was headed somewhere, towards the direction of the two other people he saw earlier. Nervously, he cleared his throat to speak. "Hey, are you new here too?" Lucius Corentin Age: 15 Cause of Death: As his brother's last string of sanity withered, he brutally murdered all his family members, including the boy himself Appearance: Personality: Cheerful and bubbly, with personality as bright as his appearance, a huge contrast to his other family members. Most would be surprised he was looked this joyful despite his dark past and family reputation, but that could possible be due to his unbelievable imagination that makes him forget about all the bad in the world. He tries to see the good in everything, even when there seems to be no hope of light in the dark. Lucius was a boy born with a very vivid imagination that people worry he couldn't differentiate his fantasy from reality. While it helped serve as a coping mechanism for the sad boy, it was dangerous and distracting on some occasions, which was why he was always under the watchful eyes of his older brother. Despite his happy atiitude, Lucius likes to keep to himself, finding more comfort when he's alone yet surrounded by the beauty the world has to offer. He wouldn't mind, however, making a loyal friend or two, even if he never had a chance to properly bond with anyone before. Sure, his oppurtunity to freedom had been shattered, but at least he had more time to find another chance before he starts succumbing to insanity. Well, hopefully. He made his way to the hospital entrance, the destruction doubled from the explosions until most of the glass of the automatic door was shattered and the walls were reduced to nothing but rubble. While he could hear the faint footsteps and hushed breathing of the people hiding behind the hospital pillars, their eyes probably fixed on the boy, Azrael didn't mind them. They didn't make a move for him so he really had no reason to go berserk on them. He left the hospital after climbing the fallen rocks of the roof and returned to the center of the city streets. The new location was further away and would definitely take days on foot, making him pinch the bridge of his nose in grimace. Now he had to resort to stealing a car if he actually wanted to get there without breaking his legs from exhaustion, and even if he did manage to get one, who would expect a person who spent their whole life penned up to even know how to start a vehicle, let alone drive one. It was a better option to walking on foot, though, so Azrael thought he might as well scour the area for working cars. Oh god, if only he had wings. As if by coincidence, a caw echoed through the rubble of a city and the next thing he knew, a majestic hawk had swopped down and rested on his shoulder, a note in it's beak. It looked at Azrael deep in the eye before he dropped the paper directly on his palm. The boy suddenly did an unexpected thing, as under the layers of bandages covering his face, he let out a small smile as he stroked the bird's feathers. It quickly dissapeared, though, as he unfolded the note to read it's content. Azrael Forgive me for not sending a better equipment such as a drone, but I'm afraid it will raise any suspicion to spies littering the area and it will most likely be shot down by the criminals wandering the streets. This hawk has been slightly modified to have almost the same attirbutes as you, so it would be slightly harder to kill. You are free to keep the bird with you or command it to leave after this letter is delivered. Sadly, as you know, our plans of deactivating the chip has failed as the Switch file was activated by your boss. However, we did manage to temporarily shut it down and you'll be free for now until they manage to rerun the system. We are still offering to permanently remove it and I have sent a trustworthy agent to see you to it. Do make your decision as soon as possible. I do hope you reconsider your choice regarding the cure. Though, it is all up to you. A picture is attached here of the agent I sent so you can find him in the city. We hope to see you soon. The letter was ended off with a seal, not even offering the name of the man. Azrael wasn't even sure if the letter was legit so he decided to wait for this 'agent' before he decided. He was more than happy to keep the bird, though, and he let it sit on his shoulder while he walks along the chaotic streets, with sounds of torture and murder echoing from every alley. He swore he heard the sound of the chainsaw somewhere nearby, but he ignored it and walked on, reaching a seemingly empty grocery store. He suddenly stopped and saw the stuff through the smashed windows. He tried to recall when his last meal was, and it was probably days ago and wondered if he should grab himself something before he moves on. As if it decided for him, the hawk dashed into the store through the huge cracks on the walls and returned with a bottle of water and later on with a can of chips. Used to eating nothing but bland oatmeal or, worse case scenario, remains of meat and bones, he ate the food gratefully while stroking his new friend again, the extreme saltiness stinging his tongue, yet making him crave for more. With his newly found favorite food, he continued his way down the streets, oblivious to the havoc around him as his mood was suddenly uplifted by the bird. He decided to see the picture of the person he'd be expecting. While he probably never met this person, something about the black hair and the golden tip tugged at him, but his head never brought up a clear image. The quick flashbacks of needles, scalpels and moniters were what sped through his mind and he stashed the picture away. But until he has to continue on his excruciating journey, he decided to sit quietly on one of the benches, surprisingly intact in the midst of destruction, munching on the potato chips while the hawk on his shoulder pecked at his hair for any insects or dirt stuck in between the strands. pft- gay bois reunite lmao xDDD [Read more] |
