"Sealed can of evil it is, aye." One of the veterans nodded. "Except the evil's not all that sealed anymore."

"Halt!" The guard called out when the group were within earshot. "Be ye men... or Hollow Men?"

Jack looked around at the group slightly hesitantly. "Err... wrong on both counts, I believe."

"State ye business or, by the power vested in me-"

"S-sorry, could you please talk properly?" Jack asked.

The man seemed to deflate a little. "Yeah. Why are you here?"

"To talk to the Oracle." The King responded.

The guard shrugged. "You may certainly try, sir, but those rocks haven't talked in a long while now. You need the proper communication glyphs. But those were lost with the Necropolis."

Jack nodded. "Thank you for the information." He made to move past the guard.

"Just one last thing. You'll need to hand in your weapons at the guard station once you're inside. Tavern's on the town square, next to the general store and the blacksmith. Have a nice stay."

"You're kiddin' me." One of the veterans said. "Biggest city in the desert? Screw that, only city in the desert?"

"Massive monument in front of it?" The other one offered.

"North? Visible for miles around?" One of the women suggested.

The King and Queen lead the way, talking to each other and laughing occasionally. Jack hung back slightly and didn't listen or participate. Snowspire was clearly visible now, no more than an hour away. In the distance to their left, under the darkening sky, the black wall of the Necropolis seemed like a nothingness in the world.

The young man stepped forward. "Well, quite plainly, we require the entirety of the fighting force of this base to come and help Aurora defend against any possible attack by the Crawler for a few days while we work on a more permanent way to destroy it."

The King nodded when the last of the enemies fell. "Shouldn't be long to Snowspire now. Hopefully, the Guard will have kept the rest of the trail clear."

The veterans lead the group forward to walk besides Glaurug.

The Wisps stopped coming and the Queen started focusing on dispatching the Balvarines. The King wasn't moving much physically. He just focused on enemies and they went flying or turned to dust. Jack was using the Sword of Aeons to good effects. He debated turning to his dragon form but decided against it quickly. That would be disastrous.

"Err..." The younger man began.

"Chaos." One of the veterans nodded.

"Likely. I don't believe Order has any advanced level of shielding technology. Nothing of that level, certainly." The other one said.

"Do you want us to scout it out?" One of the women asked.

There was a howl and Balvarines entered the fray. The Queen looked at the King. "You may want to help now."

The King sighed and clenched his hand. One of the trolls exploded, showering the Balvarines with ice. In one motion, he slayed a White Balvarine and cast a spell, summoning an exact replica of the creature, but glowing an ethereal purple. The creature snarled and began attacking the other Balvarines. The King didn't bother to look when he cast a shield on Jack, saving him from being thrown to a side by the remaining troll. The Queen, meanwhile, was focusing on keeping the approaching Wisps from finding hosts.

Kat jumped a bit as Faith landed on her shoulder and then held in a giggle. The delegation followed Glaurug. Two of them were men in their fifties and had seen more than their fair share of battles. The kept towards the back, making sure the younger ones didn't stray, and talked in hushed voices. There was another man, in his twenties and quite nervous looking and then two women who walked silently, with knives strapped to their hips.

The King nodded. "Well then. Jack. Do go soften them up."

Jack stared at the King in disbelief.

"Now, then, you wouldn't want to send a frail old man into something like that, would you?" The King asked.

"Excuse me?" Jack exclaimed.

"Do as the King says, Jack." The Queen said smoothly.

Jack glared and then marched up the path. Suddenly, the ground exploded and three massive figures stood up. The Ice Trolls roared. Jack sighed and began shooting a continuous stream of fire.

"His form is sloppy." The Queen observed.

"It isn't advisable to attempt to use fire spells here, either. It'll drain him far too quickly. Honestly, how did he survive this long?" The King muttered.

Kat smiled. "Thanks for doing this." She turned to the people. "You heard her. Just follow him and convince the population at the outpost."

The King stopped and tilted his head. "Three Ice Trolls up ahead. Big ones. The fighting will likely also draw Balvarines and Wisps to the area. And there are plenty of skeletons underground for the Wisps to to take control of."

It didn't take the King and Jack long to dispatch the Hollow Men while the Queen helped keep the Balvarines at bay, staining the bright white snow crimson.

Kat arrived at the Temple front, with the rest of the delegates, who were ready to leave.

Kat smiled. "Good." She began walking back to the Temple.

The Queen summoned a knife and sprinted with amazing speed towards a Balvarine. The creature's throat was cut before Jack knew what was happening. After a second, Jack started firing bolts of energy at anything that wasn't part of their group.

The King summoned a blade and began slicing through the hollow men. The bones clattered to the ground and the Wisps controlling the skeletons faded away, allowing the souls to be free, each one ascending with an anguished cry. They weren't to serious a threat. It was really the Ice trolls and balvarines that they had to worry about in this area, but Jack was sure that the King and Queen would be immensely useful in dealing with any such threats.

Kat turned to Elijah. "Okay, he's in. You can tell Glaurug to meet everyone at the Temple in ten minutes."

The King shrugged. "The Archons were a powerful line. They more or less did as they pleased. We'll find a lot of interesting things in there. But before that, we must now do what is considered an inevitability when going up a hill."

Jack rolled his eyes as the Queen muttered a quick shield spell to protect the people in the group. The King strode down the hill towards the hollow men, who turned clumsily to face him.

Kat quickly walked through the streets. She had already was found four of the members of the delegation and was headed to the house of the last one, an elder gentleman who had served in the Auroran military for some time.

I want to help the trainers!
Name: Hunter
Pokémon: Lucario
Gender: Male
Moveset: Aura Sphere, Close Combat, Quick Attack, Heal Pulse
Appearance: Fairly standard, some minor scarring, but only one really noticeable one across his left eye.
History: Hunter was a bit of a loner and didn't remember much about his trainer. He tended to travel alone, though sometimes he would team up with other Pokémon. He was passing through Emera town when the fog descended and decided to try to find out what was going on.

Kat nodded. Five people she could trust. That wouldn't be hard. "They'll be in front of the temple within the hour." She told Glaurug.

The group crested the hill and the King paused to get a lay of the land. The path continued down the other side. It was well lit, but Jack could already see that it was riddled with enemies the entire way. At the foot of the hill, there were several armoured hollow men, shambling around with weapons too heavy for their fleshless bones. The path would likely lead all the way to Snowspire Village, which had one of the greatest known guard forces in the world, made even more astounding by the fact that there was no use of magic or guns. Just men and women with swords and bows, determined to defend their homes.

But what really captured his attention was the horizon. It was much higher than it should have been. It took Jack a moment to figure it out. His initial guess had been distant mountains. He then realised that it was too regular for that. It was a massive wall, made of black stone, streching out of sight in either direction. A few spires were visible behind the wall and, though it was difficult to tell through the haze, Jack thought he could see the Spire in the distance.

He had never appreciated quite how huge the Necropolis was.

Kat nodded, standing up. "I'll arrange the delegation immediately." She said.

Jack cast a quick spell, which spread out from him and sent a wave of blue light rolling over the land. "There will likely be many balvarines here. Most will just have white coats for camouflage. Some will be legitimate White Balvarines, like this one here. Be careful to distinguish them properly. Otherwise, there will be Ice Trolls, Hobbes, Wisps and a fair few Hollow Men, especially as we venture further north. But first, to the top of the hill."

The King lead the way.

Jack nodded. "Directly to the Cullis Gate. It wouldn't be advisable to attempt to teleport to any other point in the Wastes. The Old Kingdom took these things very seriously." He said.

Kat watched the King and Queen disappear. Jack followed shortly after. Death remained motionless, but appeared to flicker slightly. He noticed Kat looking and tilted his head. Kat quickly looked away.

The King and Queen were already sweeping the area upon Jack's arrival. A balvarine with a white coat lay dead. There was a dilapidated fishing hut, looking out over the sea, small pieces of ice washing up on the shore. A lone bird wheeled overhead, it's caws piercing the silence that otherwise permeated the land. Beyond the hut, there was a large hill, craggy and snowy, with a path leading to the top cut into it, punctuated by lamp posts.

"Will the entirety of the Court be going?" Kat asked.

The King and Jack glanced at each other and gave almost imperceptible nods.

"I'm sure you'll see Death hanging around here." Jack told her. Kat nodded, satisfied.

"Well, that's sorted." The King said. "When do we leave?"

"As soon as possible. If everyone is ready, now wouldn't be a terrible time."
