"Ah, I see." Kieran couldn't stop a small grin from blossoming on his face. Melody was just an entertaining person to talk to. He picked up the mop. "I should probably finish up cleaning... also, classes start relatively soon," He reminded her. Melody was a welcome bit of surprise and excitement to the town, according to Kieran.

"No idea," Kieran lied, relieved to be away from all the questions about monsters, which struck a little too close to home. Well actually, he'd probably just get more questions pushed towards him, judging by the human he was talking to. "Whats up?" He fiddled with his hoodie.

"What are you talking about?" Kieran squinted at Admin.

"What do you mean?" Kieran glared suspiciously at both Charlie and Admin. "Monster?" He had gotten good at acting, and seemed perfectly genuine. "Is that some kind of insult?" Turning to face Charlie, he shook his head. "You must be mistaken. I don't think we've met... I'm Kieran."

Kieran locked eyes with the person who'd approached him - which just so happened to be the person the snake had attacked yesterday. He was a little surprised that he recognised... Charlie, was it? But he masked it with a calm demeanor. "Hmm?" He asked, pretending he didn't recognise Charlie.

Kieran watched as the figure approached him. He eyed him skeptically. Why was he here? Just to talk? Seemed slightly unlikely... thought it was a possibility. He tapped his hand on his lap, waiting for the human to say something.

After tidying up the school a bit more, Kieran decided to just sit on a bench and chill for a while. He was frankly quite bored... he wouldn't mind a conversation with someone. But he guessed being bored was part of the job, in a way, and he needed his pay.

Kieran turned his attention back to mopping the floors. Eventually, he propped up the mop on the wall again, and headed outside. Sometimes, the bustling atmosphere of the school overwhelmed him a little, and he needed a break. Kieran often wondered if that was part of being part animal, or if he was just naturally like that. Yawning, he took a coupld deep breaths of the crisp, morning air. He took a calm glance up to the roof of the school... where he saw the edge of a coil of what appeared to be a giant snake. Shoot. Quickly, Kieran noped it back inside the school.

"Hmm?" Kieran nonchalantly darted his eyes to face the voice. Ah, it was Melody. He casually pulled the hood of his smoky gray jacket further over his head. Judging from the incident with Darreon yesterday, Melody was one of the few humans with the ability to percieve monsters in their true forms, and she would NOT hesitate to call him out if she saw his raccoon dog ears. Luckily, they were already safely out of view.

After checking in at the school, Kieran was tasked with mopping the floor. Not a fun job by any means, but not as boring or insulting as cleaning the washrooms. Kieran let out a sigh. He enjoyed living amongst humans... but to do so, he needed money, and money meant work... Sometimes he had the urge to go back and live in the forest again, but always ended up pushing the idea away. After all, where else could you enjoy a civil conversation, or read a book, or buy food instead of foraging? As students flowed into the building, Kieran moved aside, putting the mop against a wall and waiting for the tide of people to ebb.

Kieran's limbs ached from yesterday's wandering. He rolled out of bed and stretched. He needed to be at the school today, not that he had any classes. He'd just managed to get a part time job cleaning there whenever the school needed. Kieran was technically still young enough for classes, but no one seemed to notice or mind much... he mostly needed the money from the job. Rent for his place was hard to pay, and a guy needed to eat. He bought a few oranges from the store before strolling to school.

Today was more chaotic than most. Finally ready to sleep, Kieran tucked himself in. It took a while to sleep - half an hour, as per usual, but eventually, he drifted off.

Kieran quickened his pace, pushing open the door, and dashing away. It was getting late anyway, and he needed to get home. He looked at the sky, which was adorned in beautiful streaks of orange and red. One good thing about Princeville were the sunsets; they were always gorgeous. He spotted the moon out of the corner of his eye. It was nearly full... in a day or two, he'd need to spend all night as a raccoon dog. It wasn't too much of a pain, but still a little bit of a painful reminder of the human life he might be missing out on if he was a human and knew his family. He could be going to school, making friends, learning, feeling better about social interaction.... eh, he could work with what the world gave him. He slipped into his house, shifting back into his human form, and flopped onto his bed.

Kieran's fur stopped bristling, but he was still on edge. The snake could still return... He was caught off guard by the two humans who'd barged into his corner, and he awkwardly got up and started padding towards the door, as if to say Aight, guess I'll be going, now. Hopefully the situation was fine.

Kieran stayed glued to the corner. It would be a cozy resting place as a raccoon dog, but now wasn't the time to think about it. He didn't think there would be anything he could do to help but stay away from whatever was going on.

Kieran let out a sigh of relief - or the closest sound a raccoon dog could make to a regular sounding sigh. It was a good idea to close the window after all. Not wanting to make things awkward, even in the middle of something like this, he his from the two humans in the house, keeping in the corner. It would distract them less from what was important, anyway.

As much as Kieran wanted to make a break for it as fast as he could, his morals got the better of him. Noticing an open window of the house that the big ol' snake might notice soon, he made a flying leap through it, closing the window as soon as he was in the house. Shoot. The adrenaline had made him not think this through as much as he normally did. He darted into a corner of the cozy little house, at least relieved that the serpent couldn't attack through the window.

Kieran's ears twitched in alarm as he heard an unearthly hiss not to near from where he was lying... Going to see what it was, he bounded up, darting right inbetween melody and darreon. He begun hopping from roof to roof, like a frog on lilypads, until he landed on the top of a house right next to where all the commotion was happening. His eyes widened at the sight of the giant serpent. This is NOT good... he thought as he watched. Who would be daring enough to even begin to attack it?

Kieran felt his ears flick up. More learning! And about two very interesting people - or a monster, in Darreon's case. Could you still say people when if involved a monster? Kieran shoved the thought aside and listened. He tapped his paws on the rooftop tiles like drumming, a habit of his.

Kieran couldn't stop a little bark of laughter from leaving his muzzle - both from the pride in his correct answer once again, and from just the hilarity of the situation. It was amusing to watch Melody just begin to hurl questions at Darreon, half oblivious to his display of intimidation.
