Atticus gazed calmly at the training grounds, carefully watching Jack.

Atticus draggeed Ayran to the dorms and kicked down Ayran's door.

"My apologies, but I don't have the key."

He dropped Ayran on a chair and sat looking at Ayran for quite a bit. He left a few minutes later.

As he walked around the campus he could see the classes he was supposed to be in, but he had skipped.

He remained silent, watching everything. If it went his way, this last year at the Institute would be for training.

"Institute. Another word for a mental asylum. Perfect place for me."

"Hey Ayran."

Atticus smiled warmly and jumped up.

"I'm fine. I just had a bit of allergies and came up here. Just needed some clear air, y'know?"

He tried to laugh, and failed.

"**** it. Ayran, to get completely to the point, the largest reason I'm here at the Institute is so I can take and store some people's powers so I can kill two whole families."

He sighed.

"I know this sounds terrible, but I have my reasons. I won't go to jail because I won't be alive after I pull it off. That is my final desire and it's been killing me ever since I came here years ago."

Atticus silently watched everything going on at the campus with a frown on his face. It seemed everyone was with someone else talking. He had left the hall and climbed up to it's roof and silently watched everything, the breezes ruffling his hair. Jack had told him that if he needed to talk to anyone, he could talk to her, but his motives were far too complicated to say.

He didn't know what to make of it himself. Part was hating his father for the pain and suffering, but another part of it was his cowardice in everything. Making friends, standing up for himself, dancing at the ball...

I shouldn't be doing this. Lying and going behind people's backs is a terrible thing to do. Murder is too. Homicide, patricide. If I'm caught, what will I do?

His nails were dug into his palm, blood seeping out of the cracks between each digit. Memories of his father yelling at him not to cry flashed throughout his mind.

"Fine. I won't cry."

He laughed, a smile creeping up on his face, but still, his eyes remained angry.

Atticus smiled and walked out of his room.

"Just go ahead."

Atticus watched the other students, carefully thinking. Now that his plan was in action, he needed to talk to Jack. Sure he had told Kendo that he didn't want Jack knowing and that this whole thing was to kill his father, but he never agreed to tell Kendo the full story.

He walked around the campus, searching for Jack.

As he walked and thought, he realized that Ayran would have to know too. Ayran had extremely valuable talents and Ayran was the first person Att met at the Institute, but Atticus didn't trust him completely.

He resumed his search for Jack.

His face flushed.

"I know, but I can't take my father down with this sh*t of a power."

He snapped his fingers and wisps of color flew from it.

"It's ****ing weak."

He tried to smile again, but his anger was coming up.

"Alright. Bye. You should get sleep."

He pushed Kendo out the door and slammed it shut. He could hear his father's voice.

"You're too weak to be a son of mine. That isn't a power that belongs in the Redding family."

"Right... You know... If you really want to, you can tell Jack. I can tell you have a strong relationship with her. Even if it is one-sided, it is a great thing. Don't waste it on doing stupid things."

He smiled.

He brought out a clear as water crystal. It seemed to have color in it, but no color at all.

"I have to use this for my other power. I get hit directly with a power and I have this on me, I use the power for a few minutes."

His voiced dropped to an angry growl.

"Spend a day with my father, you wish he never set eyes on you."

He led Kendo to his dorm and pushed Kendo inside quickly.

"What I need you to do is to get the Princess to come here anyday at 9 pm. Also, at whatever time you want, try to beat me up. But, do not tell people about my other power."

He laughed.

"It's still weak, like my default one is, but it can do harm to others if I use it right. But mostly, I kinda hurt myself. Not as bad as Father's punishments though."

He was confused for a moment.

"Oh! Oh no, no, no, no, no. I won't hurt Jack. I promise you. I see the world different. I have had a better past than you. You turned out optimistic... mostly. I, even with my advantages, came out this way. I really don't want to hurt anyone, but this is the only reason I came to this Institute. You are the skilled person I need for this."

His smile faded fully away.

"Kendo. You don't respect the authorities. Hey, I get that. This plan I have is against an authority. But just one. Just one that has hurt me so, so much. I can get you what you want if you help me. Please."

"I wasn't planning on carrying out Jack's plan. You see, I support the larger authority figures. That includes this school's heads. I really do admire Jack and... she really is valuable to me as a friend, but I have to give some things up for this."

His eyes' joy faded away to sorrow.
