Atticus swallowed hard. The window was just a few feet behind him. If he jumped, he could probably survive. Right?

He turned and bolted. He slid out the window and landed hard on the ground.

"Tch. I definitely broke something."

He slowly got up and started limping away.

"I am so dead. I am so dead. I can't use the new powers yet... I'm saving them for Father, and his friends."

Atticus wasn't really in the world.

He was conscious, but the shards of glass embedded in his arm that were reflecting light gave him a headache. He plucked each of them out and applied alcohol to the wounds.

He couldn't believe he had Jack's power. Even if he could only use it for at most a day, he had it.

He brushed himself off, the burn on his chest stinging. He had taken a painkiller, but the task ahead was so big, he couldn't get his head around it.

He found the bottle of pills and swallowed 3. The pain was still in his chest as he took more and more, his head growing lighter and dizzier.

He stumbled, laughing.

"Damn Jack..."

The crystal in his hand filled with power and was absorbed into another symbol on his skin.

He placed his hand on Jack's shoulder.

"Just close your eyes for a sec, alright?"

He placed a finger on her forehead and flicked her away.

He ran back to his dorm. As he looked himself in the mirror, he could see the blood coming out of his wound and trickling out of his mouth.

"Still works."

He stumbled one more time, passing out, the mirror cracking and shards landing all over the floor.

He couldn't admit to her that he needed help. He stood still, trying to listen for Jack. The crystal symbols hummed and glowed. If he didn't move, they would hurt him. He needed to get revenge.

He slid his hand into his pocket and brought out an empty crystal, just in case.

"Jack. I know you were asking Kendo about who would hurt him. In my third year, I pushed him down a flight of stairs because I was bored."

He smirked.

"Guess I don't belong in my house. I was sorted into it because I can keep a temporary truce long. I can't keep an oath forever though."

	The crystal symbols on Atticus's wrists glowed a bit and Atticus's eyes glowed with determination. He charged at Jack again. He could deal with the other two later. He knocked her down and put a knife to her throat. He just wanted to scare her enough to hit him with her powers. He didn't want to harm her, but if a little bit of maiming was in order, he would do it. [Read more]

Atticus leaned against the doorframe, his figure and face hidden by a large coat. His blue eyes carefully gazed at Jack. She looked nice, but all he needed was to be hit by whatever power she had.

She had a good power, Att needed power.

The cold steel of the blade in his hand was the only thing keeping him chained to the world.

The blade nicked his palm and the blood welled up.

With one hand, he tossed the blade at Jack, with the other, he threw up an illusion, just enough to keep him safe to not die, just to be hit once...

As Atticus paced right at the Institute's gates, his gaze was cold as he ran his hands along the tough rope. He could feel something terrible in his bones. Something to do with Jack.

Jack...

She definitely did not trust him. But, since when did he care? He could feel fire inside his gut. Fire... A chuckle escaped before he could stop it. It grew into maniacal cackles.

"Oh Father, your own element against you... Guess I'll follow the same path as you..."

In his palms, green flames erupted and in a cyclone of fire that lit up the sky, his skin burnt and his wave of red hair was reduced to what resembled red blades standing up in thin strands of hair. Hair fell in both his crackling blue eyes.

The fire slowly died away, leaving him with a smirk on his face. He slipped on a cloak with a large hood.

"Let's see if Jack will recognise this Atticus now. I don't have to keep a loyalty if I'm ready to be a different person."

If you looked into his eyes, you could see years and years of planning... all leading up to this moment.

A burnt scar on his cheek resembling a pen slowly appeared.

"Cadfael, my lord, I will carry out your ideals for me to be your prophet."

Her breathing was heavy and laboured. Rin stood, with tears in her eyes. Her puny illusion powers couldn't help her.

It's for the best... She kept telling herself. If they knew I was here... they'd come for me-and get disintegrated before they set foot on the Plane of Distortion...
Sure...she'd lied to the two people she cared about...but it was for their safety.

If Scarlett hadn't followed her there in the first place, everything would have been alright.

The screams of distortion were loud and horrible. Souls and souls-even carlisle's-torn and withered. Just let me decay here...I deserve it. She could feel her soul split, then scream, cry, yell, and add to the chaos. But somehow...she was fine. She looked at the other version of herself...and wasn't horrified. They touched hands and...joined back into one.
What was happening? No human could survive the distorian world.
She jumped of the platform of Darkness that she was standing on, and fell into the abyss. Surely this was her end.

But another platform caught her...every time she tried to jump off...
But why? It's not like anyone can master the Distortion Realm...can they?
Suddenly an image appeared. It was the real world. She touched the screen with her hand, but couldn't go through it. Rin reached her hand up, and touched a cloud on the screen. As if it was listening to her, the cloud disintegrated.

What was happening?

"Cath- I- I'm sorry for doubting you. The burden of dark magic. It- it's just so heavy and I feel like you go through so much every single day to stay sane."

He took a breath.

"Cath. Rin- I don't know what's going on, but her body just disappeared. She sent me one last message before vanishing. It was; Running away to live alone has been my dream. Thank Cath."
