Unlike the last time she had been offered food, this time, Bree doesn't hesitate to accept the offer of having something to eat. With help from a servant she eagerly fills up her plate and dives in. She was quickly starting to consider use of the Tanji being like a muscle- using it was a workout, but with time, she was sure she would be able to heal and shield others with ease.

But she wouldn't know for sure until she opened up her book; and from the sounds of it, the books were definitely- interesting to say the least. She didn't know whenever or not she was excited or nervous to open up her book. She decided her answer was excited because no matter how hard she tried to ignore it, the urge to read her book was overwhelming. She continued to eat until she could no longer withstand fighting her curiosity and opens the book to a random page. As promised, the text was written in braille.

Your shield is a very powerful ability. A dome-like structure that can be used to shield yourself and your allies. How long you can hold your shield up depends on your strength and experience. Bree smirks, feeling proud of herself for being able to figure that out on her own. The shield can block almost anything, even man-made bullets! Bree doesn't even have time to react. What sounds like gunshots erupt from the book, causing bullets to fly towards Bree. Just like in her simulated training, the bullets only sting for a little bit when they hit her. "Seriously? This again?" Bree mutters while quickly shutting her book.

Bree's expectations for how she would look were far off from reality. Her stylist had picked out a dark dress that was littered with wires. The wires had lights that would glow against the dark carriage. Bree had found the dress to be uncomfortable, but tolerable. She refused to listen to the stylists describe the dress to her, she had wrongfully assumed that it would look horrible on her.

Next was her makeup, her stylist had highlight along her most distinct features so that when the lights were turned on you could still clearly see her face against the dark carriage. Next, they placed glow-in-dark eyeshadow on her eyelids so that the audience would be most drawn to her eyes; as if to really drive in the point that she was blind.

Initially, Bree was supposed to wear high-heels, but after some harsh debate, Bree was instead allowed to wear much more comfortable flats. Next, was her hair. It had been pinned up to be out of her face. But the moment Bree was away from the stylist's she ripped the bobby pins out to let her hair down freely, claiming that they were uncomfortable against her scalp.

Bree sits on the carriage with her arms crossed, an irritated look on her face. She looked horrible and she knew it. D*mn you stylists for tarnishing my beauty! Bree thinks to herself bitterly. Oh well, nothing could be done about it. She couldn't look that bad, at least compared to the rest? Right?

We're leaving so soon? Tayla wonders. She sighs and stands up, mentally preparing for what's to come. This wasn't going to be an easy trip. If there's another earthquake coming, it will, at best, make the waters rough. She does a quick head count, only to realize they were missing Cree and Molly. "Cree!?" She calls. "Molly? We have to go!" She shouts, as if it weren't already obvious.

Mister Detilander's voice seemed to come at her out of nowhere. She visibly jumps in surprise when he suddenly appears and gives her some fruit. She thanks him, even though she was certain that he teleported away after giving her the fruit. She slowly eats the fruit and spends the next few minutes trying to pinpoint what kind of fruit it was before she gives up, ultimately deciding that it was some sort of magical food not available to normal people.

He wasn't lying though. Like magic, she could feel her energy returning. Pretty soon, her hour was up. Whenever you're ready you can restart the simulation the same voice informs her. Bree stands up and after relocating the button, she resets the simulation.

Once again, she hears a sound behind her. But this time, it sounded like running footsteps rather than a falling body. A furious war cry sounds from behind her and Bree instinctively pounces away from her attacker. Just in time too, because a sword slams into the button, which was where she was standing just seconds ago.

Bree curses as she backpedals away from the attacker. Something hit that button. It's either a club or a sword. If situation one had arrows, I'd doubt situation two would involve use of a primitive club. She considers grabbing her dagger from her boot, but realizes that it was worthless. She had no idea what type of sword her attacker had. A dagger could never win against a sword. Not unless she got extremely lucky and she would never be foolish enough to bet her life on luck.

Instead, Bree tries to shield herself the next time her attacker strikes. She brings her arms up, now aware that this will create a dome shield and while it blocks the attacks, she finds that blocking attacks consumes a lot of energy. She won't be able to hold it forever.

The simulated attacker continues to fight her seemingly on unlimited energy. Soon, she is forced to drop the shield and get hit by the sword. It cuts across her face. While it doesn't leave any marks, it certainly feels like it had cut her face open. Situation two is over, the simulation will reset in one hour the voice reminds her. Once again, Bree sits down, all the while holding her still stinging face. She was a bit angry that the odds were against her for this situation. It almost seemed like she was set up to fail. But at least she learned a valuable lesson. Unless she managed to get stronger, her shield could only be held up for a limited amount of time. This begged the question, what other limits did she have?

A rush of air slams into Bree's body as she is teleported away from the group and to her own private room. She doesn't even have time to react to the shock of suddenly being teleported away as she was caught up on Detilander's final words. Excuse me? Twenty four hours? Isn't that a bit extreme...?

She paces around the room, hands outstretched as she paws around for some idea of where she is. "Hello?" She calls out. Unsurprisingly, she doesn't receive an answer. Her fingertips hit what she believes is a button of some sort. She fumbles around the object to confirm. Over the button, written conveniently in braille was active training bot simulator. Bree cocks her head and gazes down towards the button in obvious interest before clicking it.

Her eyes widen when she suddenly hears a thump behind her. The undeniable sound of a body falling over. She slowly turns towards the sound. She doesn't have too much trouble locating the source of the sound, because all of a sudden, the body starts screaming.

Unknown to Bree, holograms of archers were swarming the room and quickly surrounding her and the body. The moment Bree takes a step forward, she hears it, the distinct sound of a bowstring being pulled back. She would've missed it if not for her adrenaline rush and the screaming suddenly turning into quieter sobs.

Bree throws herself down to the ground just as an arrow sails towards her. She could practically feel it sailing over her hair. She saved herself from being hit when she had thrown herself to the floor. The arrow was a hologram, it would only sting if she were hit, rather than injure or even kill. But of course, she had no way of knowing that. Bree army crawls towards the voice. Her teeth clenched as she half focuses on her target and half focuses on not being shot. She clamps a hand over the crying voice's mouth. Muffling it's screams. "I'm here to help" she whispers. "Where are you injured?"

Shaky hands guide her to a bloodied stomach. Bree nearly gags at the feeling of blood pooling under her hand. Fortunately, she had the power to stop it. The buzzing feeling returns in her hand and she can feel the wound closing up underneath her hand. Once the wound is healed Bree sits up and wipes beads of sweat from her brow. "N-no" the trembling voice whispers. "T-t-there's more." Once again, coming from every direction, was the sounds of bowstrings being pulled back. Although this time, it was the sounds of multiple targets, rather than just one.

Bree stands up in a desperate attempt to shield the body. The ring suddenly felt hot, as if it were warning her. She throws both arms up on an unknown instinct. She winces and nearly screams out in agony as one hits her chest. It disappears after hitting her. Fortunately, she had only gotten hit by one arrow, because that's when a white dome appears over her and the body. The arrows all dig into the shield, she knew that it worked because the ring almost immediately stopped burning and she wasn't impaled by any more arrows. Bree stands in place, breathing hard, as if she had physically blocked all the arrows herself.

Situation one is over, the simulation will reset in one hour a voice informs her over a loudspeaker. With that, all the holograms around her disappear. Slowly and catiously, Bree lowers her arms to drop the shield and sits down, struggling to catch her breath. Who knew that healing someone and saving yourself from what you believe to be certain death would be so much work? She places a hand on her chest, relieved to not feel blood or an arrow sticking in her chest. She tries to not think about what she would've done if it were real as she lays down to rest for the next hour. "That's only situation one? I wonder what they have in store for me?" Bree asks out loud, sounding amused.

Bree was silent as she listened to the three talk. They seemed to be talking about an animal of some sort, but Bree didn't want to interrupt the moment and ask about it. Bree only speaks when Faith mentions one of her concerns. "Tilly said something about me being able to revive people" Bree pipes up. "While Tilly didn't really explain what that means, I'm assuming it would mean revive someone from death? I'd have to ask if that were correct. But if it is, you should be perfectly fine using that abiliy." Once I actually learn how to revive people Bree silently adds. "Still, it would probably be best if you used that ability only when it's needed. The risk is far too great."

"I would appreciate that. Thank you" Bree responds while delicately holding a hand out towards where she assumes, is Mehul's outstretched hand. She was beginning to take a liking to him. Maybe this band of world saving teens wasn't so screwed afterall...

"And I'm certain that you'll master the art of sword fighting in no time!" Bree responds, but not unkindly. She holds up her hand at the mention of food. "I'm sure it's amazing but I've already ate. Perhaps we should socialize with the others? It would be best for all of us to become familiar with eachother."

"The irony of the Domberdem choosing a blind wielder is not lost on me" Bree responds. "But whenever you like it or not, you guys need a healer, so you're stuck with me!" She boasts with a smug smile. "But don't worry, I'll be there to ensure that nobody dies... I just have to get use to having this new ability."

"I'm sure we can trust them. But that doesn't mean it's possible to be able to work with all of them." She laughs and adds "yup, looks can be deceiving. That's why I'm fortunate enough to not have to worry about being fooled by them. I can judge others by what they say and how they say it." She grins. "It's quite a useful skill, despite the disadvantages that come with it."

"You're right" Bree responds with a smile. In a way, that's kinda exactly what happened. She didn't know how to feel about this whole ordeal. On one hand, she was excited to escape her quiet life and do something important. But on the other, she was terrified. Would she even be able to survive? She didn't like the idea of dying all that much.

"What do you think about the others?" Bree asks. "Something tells me that our survival is going to depend on how well we can work together." She didn't know how to feel about everyone. The few who she heard talk seemed friendly enough, but one couldn't make an accurate judgement based off of a few words.

Bree laughs at the question and shakes her head. "I've never had any interest in jewelry. But I just had this strange gut sensation that I should enter the store. That's when I chose the Domberdem... I didn't even know that there were other options until afterwards." She smiles and places her thumb on the ring, trying to memorize the shape of it underneath her fingertip. "I'm sure if you chose, or rather, the Grendulas chose you, it's for a reason. Maybe you have some hidden skill that you never knew about? Either way, I'm sure you'll have plenty of opportunities to practice using it." Turning away from him now she adds, "It's quite strange, knowing now that we are in the midst of a war."

Any doubts of her magical ability where swept away when Bree hears the table and other smaller items come crashing down seemingly from the sky. She jumps at the sound, but relaxes at the reassurance that it was food. Bree refuses the offer to eat, she had just eaten before she arrived here anyway. So she was left alone to stand in awkward silence when a familiar voice, she assumed it was from Mehul, speaks.

"Indeed it is" Bree responds, she doesn't bother turning her head to face Mehul. She could hear him just fine staring at, well, what she assumed was the far wall. "You choose, apologies I've already forgotten the name- a sword correct?" Bree asks. She smirks and adds "you picked a mighty fine Tanji considering our circumstances." Now she turns her head towards him, wanting to at least be respectful if they were going to have a conversation. "Tell me, what made you want to pick that Tanji in particular?"

What a curious day indeed. Bree didn't need to be granted the power of sight to know that Tilly had been telling the truth. The sensation was small and very faint. But for a second, Bree could sense that Tilly had injured herself. Was that what she meant by her disability becoming an advantage when using this Tenji?

But that could just be her imagining that feeling out of hindsight. But what was that buzzing feeling? This was the second time that she felt it. That would have to be an impossible coincidence for that buzzing feeling to happen twice when Bree was intentionally trying to heal somebody.

She takes a few steps back, cupping her ringed hand with a bewildered expression. She was silenced by her shock. This is real! No.... It's impossible. But then how did I-? She gulps, then raises up her head so that she could better pay attention to Tilly's voice. Now, she knew that she had to listen to Tilly seriously this time. It felt like life or death not to.

"D-do-" she pauses to take a deep breath, her voice was shaky due to the shocking news. "Do these Alacratz have any powers or weapons that we should know about?"

Support 100%!!
It looks like the only reason why people don't support this idea is because most PTs are done between two people who have been communicating what they wish to trade. If that's the case, then this wouldn't affect them anyway because you don't NEED to reject the offer.

It's better to have it and not need it, then to need it and not have it. This will be really helpful with stopping spam traders and it saves the User time and energy to confront the User/block them (which some people are saying doesn't even work).

The only problem with this is that someone might reject the offer by accident instead of accepting/offering on it. I can see why that would be annoying but it's a minor (user) error that would solve a much bigger issue.

No pressure though Bree silently adds. The invitation to drop all of this and leave it behind was tempting. But there wasn't a lot she would be returning to. She never enjoyed her quiet life. It felt wrong to, if Tilly was right, cower away while the world was attacked by these Alacratz. Also, the idea of leaving the Tanji behind felt like it was completely out of the question.

So she does something that was almost laughable. She hesitantly extends her ringed hand out, she moves slowly, as if she were afraid that Tilly would suddenly snatch the ring from her finger. She silently hopes that she was extending her arm out in the right direction. "Alright, show me this 'power' that you claim the ring is giving me" she challenges.

At the mention of 'healing,' Bree raises a ringed hand onto her face and gently places it over her eyes. She didn't know what to expect, in her head, everything Tilly said was completely unbelievable and crazy. Still, a small part of her wanted to at least humor her. After a moment, a buzzing sensation seemed to rip through her hand. It felt like that static feeling in your limbs when they fell asleep. It wasn't necessarily painful, it wasn't even uncomfortable, it was just odd. Bree gasps at the feeling and her eyes widen in shock. But the moment passes by quickly and soon it was over.

"Heh" Bree lowers her hand and tries to hide her disappointment. "It didn't work." She sighs and shakes her head, now looking irritated. What did she expect to happen anyway? This wasn't a movie, this was real life. There were no superpowers in real life. "Well, this sounds like a lot of fun. Unfortunately, my schedule is pretty booked. I'm afraid I won't be able to join you guys on this whole save the world mission, I'll just-" she pauses. For some reason, she didn't want to take off the ring. The thought of losing the ring was quite unbearable- as if she were losing a part of herself. "I'll just pay for this and go?" She finishes weakly.

It was strange. Bree had no use for jewelry, she never had an interest in wearing them. But the shop had been calling her name. Without a second thought she had went straight into the store and had chosen a small object the man called the Domberdem. After slipping the ring onto her finger, she felt-... Well, she didn't feel anything at all. She didn't necessarily feel stronger, or anything of that sort. But deep down, she felt like something was different.

After listening to the woman talk- Tilly was her name, Bree almost immediately forgot her name- she stood in place silently. After a brief moment of hesitation, Bree laughs to herself. "If I would've known that I would've been tossed into a dangerous mission, I would've chosen a more useful Tanji" she lifts her hand up, showing off the Domberdem. "What's so special about a ring?" Bree asks, obviously in disbelief that this Tanji would grant her special powers.

"Um? Is he dead?" Tayla asks while staring down at the severed arm. She shudders at the sight and turns back to face Faith. "We should leave. I don't feel comfortable staying here anymore. Both because of the Gamemakers and now Ace knowing our location. It can't be safe to stay here." She turns away from the water quickly, dreading the idea of returning to the boats. "We need to locate Cree before we leave." She picks up her fallen crossbow and returns to the house to inform the others on what just happened.

"Right, that makes a lot of sense" Tayla mumbles. "Care to elaborate what you mean by that?" She only glances away from Ace for a second to shoot Moona and Ibaraki a look that clearly says run. She didn't trust Ace one bit, still, she would have to hear him out. If she could get him to talk then maybe that would give Moona and Ibaraki a chance to flee. Where is Cree when you need him? Tayla wonders impatiently.
