Raziel watched as Suko's took everything at the vendor to the point she might as well buy the entire store, pets of the owners included. Raziel only smiled and took his pouch out of his bag. Thank goodness he carried extra gold around which would hopefully pay for everything.

"Alright, but do not carry more than you need. You might have to drop some stuff at your house before we leave," Raziel advised as he handed over the pay to the stunned owner since Suko wiped out almost everything on sale, and probably things which were not meant to be bought as well.

The bags piled up and the two were barely able to carry them properly. His hands full, the puppy had to sit in his satchel and the boy dearly hoped the animal was still enough so it wouldn't crumpled his notes inside.

Emika had seperated, probably to finish off getting what she needs. Raziel really needed Suko to sort out her massive haul of the day so they might as well use this time to do that.

"While Emika's out, let's go through these things at your house. There's no way we're carrying all of this with us," he said. "Unless you need more? We can see the other stalls on the way to your place," Raziel offered, though he silently hoped she didn't because truthfully he might start growing muscles if he had to lift another heavy bag. The chances of her turning that down, however, was slim.

As the boy was dragged along he had to grip tightly to the satchel he was holding. Suko had surprisingly good strength compared to Raziel so he was easily carried along like a twig pushed by river currents.

Though he was questioning himself about the poisoned darts. This person was really mysterious and different to Raziel. Then again, he's only ever worked with scholars with their books and academic tales, he probably forgotten the fun of a normal interaction or conversation.

"O-okay" he answered as they left the town center and moved towards the stalls. Delicious cuisines lined the vendors while some promoted crafts and art. The weapons were deeper inside, towards the homes of the blacksmiths. He looked at Suko and just realised she wasn't carrying anything with her. Was she planning to buy something? How would she pay?

"Suko? Do you want to buy something?" Raziel asked, eyeing the items on the counter.

Evander was just as interested in the story as Horizon was, listeing to the tale with his undivided attention. His vivid imagination pictured the battle in his head, the characters in the story. Their face, expressions, cries of both victory and pain flooded the boy's mind as Sol's story continued. He was about to ask Sol more questions-

When he realised Ramu wasn't behind him, nor was the tiny ram anywhere near him.

Panicked, he broke away from the two and scrambled to find any trace of the little creature. Footprints, balls of wool, anything that could lead him to where his little companion went. His eyes landed on the fields of crops in the distance.

And lo and behold there was the ram, happily munching on a turnip with a face oblivious to any problems in the world.

Though it was cute, Evander hurriedly rushed over to the ram and picked it off the ground. He looked straight into the ram's eyes in a somewhat serious manner.

"Ramu! You can't just go eating people's crops like that! They might get angry," he lightly scolded. The ram looked to his feet in guilt, dropping the turnip leaf that was previously dangling in it's mouth before and letting out an apologetic bleat. The looks of his sad companion did it's job in softening Evander and the boy pulled the fluffy creature into a tight hug.

"Of course I forgive you, though I don't know if the foxes would," he sighed, stroking Ramu's little head. He picked up the fallen leaf for Ramu to happily continue munching and turned, seeing June looking at the fields.

Oh, were they the owner?

"Heeeey, my ram might have eaten one of the turnips by accident. I'm sorry if I messed up your harvest," he apologised. The ram in his arms raised it's tiny hooves and let out the cutest face it could muster to try and soften the fox's feelings. It didn't want Evander to go through someone's full blown rage over something it did.

"What joyous laughter;

Although he was trying to keep a somewhat strict atmosphere, trying his best to not get too attached to either individuals, he couldn't help but let out a bright chuckle, a small laugh that tinkled like wind chimes almost a soft melody amongst the noise of the crowd, at Suko's playful nature. For a minute all the things that burdened him seems to have lighten slightly as their behaviour brightened Raziel up. His smile became warmer, more genuine than the forced ones he'd been holding up.

"That's good to hear. Just making sure as we'd have to travel by horse unless you're willing to break your feet walking," he said with a small grin.

He checked the time on his watch, slowly looking as the second had passed by. They'd have to leave soon or they'd reach later than he planned. Travelling in the dark of night was something Raziel wanted to avoid, since it would be advantageous to those who plan to ambush them.

"Well, then all that's left is for you to make any final preparations. We'll be heading off soon to..." his words trailed off as he was reminded of their destination. "Well, we'd have to stop by Glen Dungeons since I need to see the girl, but it'll only be a short stop before we go to the borders where I need to check on something," he outlined the journey in a little more detail. He dreaded about what he'll see in the dungeons, recalling a memory of the place he didn't want to remember.

"Red blood tainted the white hair,
Slowly covering every strand,
Until none of the white color was left,
Golden eyes lifeless, yet still burning
There he laid,
Behind bars and locked up in chains"

He cleared his mind, trying to forget that event ever happened, cursing at himself for even thinking aboit it. He had promised he'd forget about it. It was their last promise.

He needs to forget it. He must forget it.

The carriage had loaded the bodies before it took off, the gallop of horses slowly fading into the distance. Raziel's hands were still clasped together as he watched them dissapear into the maze of buildings, heading towards the capital graveyard where the bodies of the two would be buried.

"May Cloudian guide you to eternal peace," he silently prayed before he seperated his palms, still shaking from the bottled up feelings in his chest. He grabbed his satchel and headed to the markets to stock up before they head off to see the girl in her cell.

It was eerily quiet as most people have retreated into their homes after the event. Other than a few people, mostly mothers with their children, the area had lost it's normal busy atmosphere. The boy made sure he got all the necessary food and equipment for the long journey.

And a few chocolate bars.

After checking every item on his list, he was about to leave when his eyes caught sight of the weaponary nearby. He considered it for a moment.

Would he need a weapon to defend himself and the two in tow? Normally the guards would handle weapons and the boy was never trained, physically nor mentally, to deal with knives, swords and anything alike. He was too nice to even hurt a fly, let alone try to hurt a person albeit it being a crazy murderer.

It wouldn't hurt to be more careful, he thought, as he entered the store. The owner looks seemingly shocked to see the boy.

"Raziel, is that you? I'd never expect you to come here," he said, astonished. The boy only smiled.

"Yeah, I didn't expect it either, but I'm in quite a predicament and I'll need the extra protection," Raziel sighed. The man nodded.

"Ah, I see. Quite the horrible life you lead, boy," the man said, shaking his head. "Well, I know you're not one who's familiar with weapons, maybe a simple one would do you good for now," the man said, scrutinizing the wall of swords. "I've got no daggers unfortunately, someone'a been being my entire stock for god knows what," he grumbled. Raziel gulped at the thought of a certain someone buying an entire hoard of daggers.

"Did they happen to have black hair by any chance? Or pale skin?" He questioned.

"Oh, they did. Had scary eyes too. Looked like a spawn of the devil that's for sure," the shopkeeper answered. Raziel felt his heart drop.

Of courae it was him.

"Well, I can't find an easier weapon. Would a rapier fit well with you?" the man asked, holding a fancy looking sword in his hands, the golden hilt shining in the light.

"I've done some fencing before with my brothers. I'm sure I'll get the hang of it," Raziel answered, inspecting the sword. It was light, which the boy liked compared to the other heavy looking ones. He nodded. "I guess this will have to do," he said. Although the man insisted he take it, he still left a pouch of golden coins on the wooden counter before he left.

Returning to the square, he reunited with the two, who looked like they were getting to know each other well. The new rapier handing by his hips in a sheath really felt foreign to the boy. The weight of it and the occasional clanks of metal as he walked was something he was yet to get used to.

"Well, it's still pretty early, do you need to go anywhere? Buying necessities perhaps?" he asked the two.  He was suddenly reminded of something,

"Also, you two can ride horses, can you?" Raziel asked. He forgot the carriage was cancelled and they would have to go there by horse instead, which was a better choice considering the path they'd take to the prison cells.

The man let out a satisfied smile on Chervil's agreement, shaking his hand, sword resting on his shoulder.

"Asmodeus Ichor. It's a pleasure to work with you, Chervil," he replied. He didn't know if he was talked about a lot here compared to his outskirts so he wasn't sure his name rang a bell in the thief's head. This was a golden opportunity for Chervil to turn him to the authorities and earn wealth that would be able to literally rebuild the entire abandoned section of the capital, with more gold to spare.

That is, if he was stupid enough to even try.

"Well, one thing is that my treasures are stored all the way to the edge of Snavia and we'll have to go there to get them," he sighed. He found the only place in the dilapidated building that didn't look close to a crumbling disappointment and gently placed the sword down. "And, besides, I have some unfinished business to take care of. I hope you're prepared to watch bloodshed," he giggled mischievously. He listened carefully to the commotion in the square, his inhumane senses telling him that the 'star of the show' had already left as activity began to slow and the vibrations and noise of the crowd dropped.

But he could still sense his prey. Raziel was still here. He could hear the soft twinkling of the boy's glasses from miles away. He looked back at Chervil, raising his hood to conceal his face, though not enough to cover his evil eyes.

"So, we ready to go?" Asmodeus asked.

The sudden actions of the girl shocked the boy, almost making him flinch in surprise as she stood on her toes to touch his nose. Though he tried to suppress it, the blood had rushed to his cheeks and turned his beige skin a soft shade of pink. He pushed the rim of his glasses up, trying to hide how flustered he was.

What in Cloudian's name is going on.

"W-well, I guess I could use your help," he mumbled. Doing this in a week will not be an easy feat and the boy could really use the extra hands. "Where are my manners. I'm Raziel, nice to meet you," he introduced. He was about to outstretch his hands for her to shake when another person came up to him. Though he was confused as to why these two people randomly decided to join him on a suicide mission, he didn't want to question them any further.

"Sure, I'll need all the help I can get. Thanks a lot," he said with a warm smile, though it masked the underlying fear he was going through.

He could almost hear the taunting voice in his head.

Two more people to hunt. Two more people to kill

Asmodeus. He wasn't out of the man's grasp yet. Even when he didn't see the man nearby, he still couldn't help but feel wary about every shadow cast by the buildings that could've hidden the waiting predator, ready to pounce when the time came. He hesitated to let the two newcomers follow him.

But he couldn't say no, especially to the green-haired girl. She had a fire burning in her eyes that he couldn't bear to extinguish by pushing her away. Reluctantly, he decided to allow these two to follow him.

Though, if Asmodeus came close, he won't hesitate to shove them away, no matter how harsh it may be.

"You best get home and prepare for a journey because we may not be returning for a few days. I have to take care of something real quick," he told the two as he left them, his eyes worriedly hovering at the two before he made his way to the two corpses lying on the ground, doing the usual ritual whenever those who protected him died.

He gritted his teeth as he wrapped the body of the two guards, the memories of the time they spent together flooding before they vanished into dust, stored deep inside the boy's mind. His golden eyes burned in silent anger.

He won't let Asmodeus kill them that easily.

Asmodeus, surprisingly patient, listened as the guy rambled on. He raised his free arm in the air once he had finished.

"Whoa, dude. I honestly didn't catch whatever nonsense you just said. I'm a street killer not a god damn philosopher, goodness grief, speak easier English will ya'?," he groaned. "And you're not entirely wrong. I can handle any weapon, but yes I'd prefer smaller blades. Though such tiny weapons don't scare the bravest of street devils," he answered, still tinkering with the giant blade with his fingers. The sharpness of the steel had left several bleeding cuts in his palms, the sting almost satisying to Asmodeus as he felt the power coursing through the sword.

He didn't get this man's logic. What's the use of such beautifully crafted sword when you don't use it? Weapons themselves were made for combat. Asmodeus could almost feel the thirst for battle in the blade, a longing for such high position.

However, something about the sword didn't sit right with him. It felt different than his countless ones stashed in his vault. In constrast to his hoard that reeked the crave of bloodshed to the man, this one was mellow. He thought about it for a moment before nodding at the man.

"This sword isn't as great as the others. I guess I can find a reason to pass it," he said as he returned the blade to the poor nails that hold it onto the rotting wood. Asmodeus almost recoiled in disgust.

"Seriously? This is the best way you can treat such a blade? It's awfully depressing to look at. Then again, with the state of this place, I'm not surprised," he tsked. "A blade like this demands some respect, a bent nail on rotting wood won't do it any good. In fact, I'm dying to turn this place around," Asmodeus complained. He turned back to look at the an with a smile.

"Say, I could help you improve the state of this poor building. I've got too much gold on my hands anyway. How about it? It's not like I'm always this nice on regular days," he offered, still holding the blade. "Though, if you're not going to accept my help, I'm afraid I'll be holding onto this sword until I'm satisifed it's resting in a place fit for a king," he added. Yes, he may be disresepctful and ignorant towards humans, but no one messes with his deep love and passion for swords. "Then again, you look like a stealthy thief. I can tell you do it more for tricks. Why is that?" Asmodeus asked again, the curiosity poking at him.

Raziel was still not pleased about where the child was going to have to wait until the week was over, but he was more worried about the short timespan they were given. He had a week to gather evidence, a week to prove her innocence and get her out of that living hell. He turned back, about to go to his location as planed to the borders before meeting the child afterwards to collect a blood sample for testing-

"Hey! Hey! Can I join you?"

The voice rang through the crowd before he heard a screech that could make the boy's ears bleed. He looked to the direction of the scream to see the green haired girl staring right at his golden eyes. He cocked his head in confusion at her sudden outburst.

"I-I'm sorry, was that directed to me?" Raziel asked. He highly doubt it was for anyone else since she was almost gwaking at him, fighting the crowd to go to his direction. The boy, with too many things to think about, was terribly confused.

He heard the tiny footsteps, almost unnoticable with how agile the person was on their feet. He looked up at the hole to see the shadow of the figure leap past, the tinh creaks of the floorboards telling him where they were. The person was avoiding all the unstable planks, obviously aware of where they were going. Asmodeus smiled.

This person was definitely the place's owner. He decided to blend into the shadows to get a good look of the person. Their brown hair barely lit be the dim light leaking from the trap above. He looked relieved that Asmodeus hadn't took his valuable sword.

Well, not yet.

Sadly, his crimsom eyes, though great for scaring the living souls out of innocent people, is also the very thing that stops him from hiding in the dark, their glowing colors alerting the person of his presence. As asked, Asmodues stepped out of his hiding spot with a smirk.

"Look who's here. It's the king of this hideout it seems. Your traps are way too easy to get past. You should make it harder," Asmodues giggled. "It would be way more fun. Say, is this sword even yours?" he asked, surveying the sword carefully and comparing the height of the person. He almost laughed in amusement. "You're way to small to even carry this blade. It's sad to leave something so beautiful hanging on the wall collecting dust," he said, suppressing his laugh, though letting a chuckle leave his mouth. He grazed his fingers on the blade.

"Wouldn't it be better if you gave it to someone who can wield it?" Asmodeus questioned before his hands grabbed hold of the hilt, lifting the gigantic sword from the wall. It was unbelievably heavy, dense with magic that was strong yet hard to handle, but since Asmodeus had really strong arms, he carried the sword's weight with little problem. It was definitely not crafted by human hands, which made it way more valuable. He looked at the other person with a smirk, almost showing off how well he could handle the weapon.

"Wouldn't it be better if someone like me could put this baby into good use?" Asmodeus grinned.

The ignorance of these people was really getting onto the boy's nerves. He had never felt such hatred for them. He had always looked up to them but this was really showing him how stupider humanity is becoming. He briefly glanced at the child, the fear and terror etched on her innocent face. He couldn't just let them take her away, to that hell hole. She'd die before she even gets a fair trial. His rage outrunning his logic senses, he stepped up. His politeness and manners tossed aside.

"You want opposing evidence? Fine, I'll get you evidence that shows this child is innocent. Leave her to me for ten days and I'll show you your decisions are nothing but [retracted] up bull[more retracted words-]," he growled. His words earned a shocked gasp from the crowd but Raziel didn't back down. "If by the day I cannot gather enough evidence to convince you, I'm willing to go down to hell with the child," he continued. He stared directly at Freysian woman's eyes, almost defying the fear that her locking gaze had on him. He didn't tremble in fear or silenced himself in obedience like before. No, that would be wrong. How many years, decades, centuries had it took for humanity to rise against the other powerful creatures, to build a peaceful community only for it all to crumble to dust on this day?

"Also stop calling things 'filthy beast' would you? You're nothing better than that having to blame such serious matter on a goddamn child," he hissed. He felt someone slap him in the back.

"Don't say that! You're going to get yourself killed!" one of the citizens said.

"I wouldn't mind. My life has only been a burden anyway," he said, grimacing again over the countless painful memories that resurfaced. "The least I could do before I die is to stand up for justice," Raziel added.

Though, it looks like Raziel might be down for more trouble as some citizens started suspecting him.

"He has the same white hair"

"What if he's also an elf?"

"What if he's that child's associate?"

"Is that why he's fighting so hard to save her?"

The cursed rumour spread across the crowd but a voice fought back. One so familiar to the boy he felt like he was back in the safety of his home.

"Don't you dare think that my son is one of them! I'll curse you fools to your grave!" she cried. She had pushed through the crowd and took Raziel's shoulders. The boy looked back.

"Mother," he nodded. The woman's eyes were filled with tears, her hands shaking with worry.

"Please, don't do this. Just let them be. You're going to get hurt," she mumbled. Her face nearly broke the boy's heart. "I'm not ready to lose you. I cannot lose you," she sobbed, gripping Raziel's hands. She looked into her son's eyes, a burning determination in them telling her he won't give up in the battle for justice. Raziel returned her stare sadly.

"Mother, you know I can't let this go," he sighed, holding back his own tears. The woman let out a sad chuckle as her grip on his hands loosened.

"I see. You're just like your brothers aren't you?" the woman mumbled sadly. She hugged her son tightly, pulling Raziel in a tight embrace. She knew deep inside, she probably won't feel the boy's warmth again.

"Please, just come home safe, okay? We'll be waiting," she said as she let Raziel go. The boy smiled.

"I can't promise that, but I'll try to," he replied. The woman walked back into the crowd and Raziel heard the movement of the carriage fading into the distance. She had gone home, probably couldn't take it anymore. He detached himself from his family again and turned to face the current situation.

"So, do we have a deal, you filty scum of the earth?" Raziel reminded.

Asmodues was evidently pissed.

He watched as another person rushed in to check on Raziel, the boy pathetically sobbing his heart out. He wondered if the orc was one of Raziel's associates. For future plans, he memorised the face of the stranger, taking a good look at the orc from behind the walls before he walked away from the scene.

His frustration was tugging at him, his hands itching from the feeling of restraint. He craved for blood, he wanted to feel the adrenaline rush through him as he played his role as the grim reaper. The boy, Raziel, was a perfect opurtunity to let out his urges on.

But he didn't feel it. It wasn't thrilling nor exciting just like the normal 'hunts' he did. Worst of all, for a moment, he even felt reluctant to kill the boy, the bright golden eyes almost staring right at his soul, pulling at something in the man. It infuriated him.

He heard the thump of tiny footsteps in the distance. The sound of a laughing child. His instincts triggered, he flinged the knife through the gap in the alley. A cry followed soon after before the target let out a gurgled scream from the effects of the poisoned tipped blade. Many more terrified shouts of their friends resonated through the walls and the hurried footsteps told him they had left the scene. Asmodeus walked over to his kill, retrieving his knife, staring back at the lifeless eyes. He thought maybe a kill would brighten up his damp mood.

But it wasn't enough. The dead person wasn't Raziel. It wasn't fun at all.

With a silent curse, he walked off, approaching the rundowm parts of the capital, towards the mass of abandoned buildings that were long past their prime. Some had crumbled from the effects of time, their pillars were all that remained from the rubble. One building in particular, though, stood out from the others. The building of what looked like an abandoned fishery, still stood firm. Though the walls had cracks in places and was covered in vines, it look sturdy and well maintained. Asmodeus decided he might as well stay there while he's out in the capital. It would give him time to rethink his choice on sparing the boy.

And maybe he'd find some valuable souvenirs to bring home while he's at it.

As a thief, something about the place posed a red flag to him. Though it may look abandoned, there was an aura of life to it. Compared to the other buildings which are clearly inhabitable, the fishery gave Asmodeus the picture of a perfect hideout for a criminal. With that in mind, just like how he'd safeguard his little home of diamonds and gold, he was wary of the traps he'd find. Nevertheless, he's been through tighter security. This'll probably be a walk in the park.

The door to the inside was locked, surprisingly not budging under force even when Asmodeus used full strength in attempt to ram it open. He chuckled, how unprofessional of him. Theives should be silent, not barging through doors like an idiot, how silly of him. He took out his set of lockpicks from his pocket and easily opened the door, the creak of its hinges welcoming him. He peered inside and scanned the area, looking down to the floor with a smile.

Just as he expected, the pitiful floorboards had already decayed leaving a hollow pit in the ground. It was probably to catch trespassers for god knows what. Still, it didn't pose much of a threat to the man as he leaped above the pit, catching the edge of the floor on the other side and hoisted himself up.

The board creaked before it gave in underneath him. Thank goodness for his speed, Asmodeus didn't fall through the gap. He tested the plank in front of him, feeling the unsteady wood threatening to crumble and break. It took him quite a while but he managed to figure out which planks would be strong enough to support him and which ones would drop him into the abyss below. He finally reached the end of the room, finding an opening to the lower floor. He slid down the rope and jumped halfway down, avoiding the spikes just below it. Looking around, he saw the outlines of rope and chains above him through the dim light that escaped through the gaps. He also saw a wriggling figure among the ropes. He smiled.

A fly got trapped in the spider's web. How sad. Asmodeus climbed up the walls and swinged himself onto the chains, hanging in the air. He looked at the victim through the weave of ropes.

"Look who had fallen. I pity you idiots, you're in for a train of pain," he whispered. The girl, looking at him in horror, only cried louder.

"Please! I was only playing hide and seek," she wailed, giving Asmodeus headaches.

"Oh for goodness sake, fine. Just shut up. I'll put you out of your misery," he groaned. The girl looked at him gratefully.

"Thank you! Thank-" she said, cut off as Asmodeus stabbed her in the head, the blood spilling to the concrete floor  below. He let go of his grip and landed on the ground, scanning the area for valuables.

The room was filled with junk, boring trinkets and maybe some stray trash in places. He started feeling bored and was about to leave.

Until he saw the beautiful sword mounted on the wall. Asmodues eye's twinkled and he smiled.

Now that is what he came here for.

"Hello?"

Raziel looked up in surprise at the new voice. He looked at the orc holding the knife. He glanced around to see where Amsodeus is. He caught the faint crimson glow behind one of the walls looking at the orc before the man dissapeared from sight. Raziel scratched at his neck, the red marks from Asmodues's hands, small cuts in places where his sharp fingers dug into, really stinged. He returned his attention to the stranger.

"This is none of your business. Stay away from me," he warned solemnly. His bright demanor seemingly crushed after the devil's visit. He wasn't letting anyone else die because of him. Even if it hurts him, he'll push people away to keep them away from Asmodeus radar. He got up, wiped his tears and tried to look like nothing ever happened. He forced his lips into his usual small, warm smile as he walked past the orc and returned to the safety of the crowd.

A smile was his only powerful shield from the merciless world. Hence, he must keep on smiling.

He watched the commotion unfold before him, looked at the person who was brave enough to challange the mayor's choice. He was grateful someone had the courage to speak the words he couldn't bring out. He felt the urge to support them, to help the innocent child and so he spoke.

"If I may?" Raziel started, his voice slightly shaky. He's never gone against the words of the higher-ups, but this matter had no logical reasoning to support it. "How can you tell she's one of the elves subordinates without proper testing? Have you done any DNA tests to confirm this? It's hard to believe a mere child like her, human, elf or other species, can even build up enough power to set up those runes. The power from them suggest that only those with very high magical ability can surrect them," he inquired. He tried to be more confident. He's worked on figuring out the mystery of the runes for years. The mayor knows of his research. The least it could do was give him some level of authority. Then, just hopefully, they would come to their senses and reconsider the girl's sentence. "And judging lineage based on physical appearance is not accurate nor reliable," he added. He hated the fact they decided, blindly, that she was an elf based on hair color. He literally had the same snow-white shade. "I don't think it's right to imprison someone, let alone a child at such a horrid place without a proper full trial," he concluded. He knew the horrors of the prison, he's seen them in some of his excursions. It was a complete nightmare.

Evander followed through Colust's words, trying to hide the dread he was actually feeling about the task. One thing the boy really hated was heat, and the volcanoes would offer plenty of that for him to put up with. Living in the mountains, he is adapted to survive in the cold, but it's the total opposite in warmer temperatures. Not to mention the distance they'd have to go to get there. Judging by the map, it was a long way from the forest to the volcanoes and it would probably take days to get there (A.N: even if he literally went from his mountains to the beach at the speed of freaking light-). At least they have a week to rest before they depart for their assigned destination.

"I see. Thanks for the explanation," Evander said thankfully. "If you don't mind we'll stay here for the week until the two are meant to leave if that's alright?" he asked, addressing Sol and June. He also needed some time to prepare for the long journey ahead. They never know when they might have to face Milo, and Evander wanted to prepare for that.

Well... Prepare to run. He'll probably let the other three deal with the dragon.

He excused himself from the room before entering the center of the village, hundreds of foxes wandering around. Some looked at him curiously, others waved and greeted him and a few were indifferent to his presence. The village was busier than the one in the mountains, painted with the colors of nature and lively with the sweet aroma from the stalls and the symphony of singing birds.

Evander decided to explore the new area a little, trying out the samples the residents gave to him. He'd never tasted food so good in his life, growing up with the bland, cold grub back at home. He walked up to Horizon holding a bowl of sweet wild berry juice, topped with various colorful fruits.

"You should try this. It's really good!" he beamed, happily slurping down his own bowl.
