If anybody were to ask Connor why his hair was covered in leaves and had twigs sticking out of it, he would absolutely say he was “blending in”.

Which was so far from the truth. Because he’d totally tripped and fallen into a trap. Thanks, Pom. You’re a real friend.

So he’d waited in tense silence for whatever grunts happened upon him, because Pom’s tails weren’t long enough to reach him and Simon was no help either.

It took a few minutes for the voices to be audible and Pom shrank back into a bush taking Simon with her. Nice to see all those months of hiding had done right by her.

It was quiet for a moment and then brown eyes met green and Conor sighed. Oh well. He’d had a good run. The two grunts hauled him out of the hole and he just grumbled, more annoyed than mad.

Which was nice, because when a shoe hit the first grunt in the face and he fell back Connor was able to slide to the side and yank Pom and Simon out of the bushes.

“Took you long enough.” Connor complained, readjusting the straps of his backpack.

Mel scowled at him, yanking her sneaker back on. “Sorry. Next time I’ll wait longer.” Riu was behind her, though the bandages over his eyes had been replaced by new ones since the last time he’d seen him. And Dew was on the Lucario’s shoulder, poking one of the unconscious grunts.

“Nono, that was fine.” He smiled. Mel shot him a familiar grin and stood, kicking up some dirt. “Completely fine.”

	Junior The sound in the house was Junior. That’s it. Nothing fancy. He’d spotted the house and made a beeline for it, because yeah, it looked abandoned. How would live in an abandoned house? Guilt splashed across Connor’s face before quickly flashing back to normal, green eyes shadowed by a heavy guilt because that was compmetely his fault and Mel had taken the fall for him— But nobody needed to know that.

Okay, no. It wasn’t completely his fault. He’d been involved, yes, but in the end it had been Mel’s fault.

No, that wasn’t right either.

She did it for Giratina. Connor knew that. He knew exactly what had happened because he had been right there, he’d watched everything happen without lifting a finger But it had been Kie. So it technically was his fault. Because Palkia was his legend. He was supposed to be able to talk to him.

So why couldn’t he stop Kie from killing Kuro?

He had some words to share with the water-dragon the next time they crossed paths.

Lani’s wars were usually pink anyway. She was a fairy, she was pink. That was pretty much the only reason, she assumed.

But now? Now, her ears were beet red and she folded them back a bit to try and hide it, though the potentially permanent flush across her face probably didn’t help. “Wh-what? Me? You like me?” Blue eyes were blown wide. “I, uh,” She cleared her throat. “I like you too. A lot. I have since I met you. Because you’ve been nice and you’re pretty and you’re a good friend and you’ve been sososo sweet and you’re amazing and I like you a lot.” She blurted quickly.

Lani groaned, still facedown on the ground. She lifted her head to look at the drawing Tikaia had made for her, which she’d lifted with one of her feelers not long ago. She sighed and reached into the new bag to munch on some of the candy corn, debating her choices.

One; Get up and find Tikaia. Potentially accidentally confess.

Two; Remain on the floor and just die.

Actually, two sounded more appealing than confessing accidentally. But Tikaia was her friend before her crush. So she should probably go try to find her.

Lani’s ears were more red than pink at this point. “Perfection..? marRIED?—“ She was so confused at this point, that she didn’t even notice the bag of candy corn. It made contact and she fell forward with a muffled squeak.

At least it gave her time to think, right?

She was vaguely aware d Tikaia running out of the room, and and really wanted to follow to see if the Leafeon (and also the prettiest girl in the world) was okay, but she was a bit preoccupied by the floor. Because her face was pressed against it and it was actually rather comfortable.
