I see that you’ve made it to Issue #90 of PH times and the third week of the newly revamped Roleplay weekly section. Oh, I am so excited, so without further ado, allow us to proceed! Roleplay With An Roleplayer! *struts in like cesear flickerman* so today I am interviewing snookie040604 (by the way that is a lot of numbers to remember). What goes into the characters you make? For example are they based off of anyone you know? For the most part, I believe that I put a lot of myself into the characters I create, much like many others. When I make a character, I don't believe they really ever truly are completed when I start to roleplay with them. When I create a character, I think of basic motivations and I typically compare them to certain characters I enjoy. Through roleplaying with the characters I start to refine them, solidify who they are. They're constantly in my mind and I always am working on imaginary scenes to test their values. Out of all of your characters past or present, who would your favorite be and what roleplay were they in? if they were off site please include both an on site/off site one That's a tough question for me to answer. I'd have to say either Amos from Academy For The Magically Gifted or Echo from Supernatural HG 2. Mostly because I enjoy playing as arrogant and conceited characters. It helps cheer me up! Has there ever been a roleplayer you have enjoyed working with the most? I really enjoy roleplaying with Zoroark_master, they are the first person I recall roleplaying with on Pokeheroes, and they really helped get me hooked on the roleplay forums here! Of course there are so many other roleplayer's I enjoy rping with, but it always brings back fun memories when I rp with Zoroark_master. What has your favorite moment from roleplaying on Pokeheroes been? I'd have to say it was with Echo, in Supernatural HG 2. In the last few posts of the thread before we moved to part 2, I really got to explore a new side of his character. Echo came face to face with the realization that maybe the way he had lived his life was wrong. With his pride on the line he takes up a bet with Rose to be good for a full 24 hours and while his reasons for doing so might have been a bit counteractive it was definitely a fun moment for me. Final question, If you had to tell someone why they should roleplay, what would you tell them? I'd have to say that it's worth all the time you give towards it if you enjoy it. During my first few years of roleplaying, I joined a lot of roleplays just for more experiences. I ended up disliking a few and I just felt stressed when trying to respond. It's something you really have to enjoy, and if it is you won't mind the time it could take. It's a fun way for me to relieve stress and it personally helps me develop my writing. I've also met quite a few people I consider to be my friends through roleplay. It's definitely had a positive influence on my life, and I hope it could be the same for everyone! Roleplay Weekly So you know that thing when you want to do something but you cant just yet and then you remember “Oh hell, I’ve gotta get my RP section done for the PH Times?” Cant relate………. Interview with a Roleplayer Last week, I was fortunately able to interview Llorona. While best known for being part of the sites staff, Llorona has also been apart of several roleplays during my time, including i believe 1964 (which i was in for 15 seconds) and the PH Oscars nominated roleplay, Protect the Star Q: What goes into the characters you make? For example are they based off of anyone you know? A: Most of the time I use my own personal tastes or what I would like into their description or sense of style. For names, I'll sometimes use my real life friend's first names or nicknames or a name I've taken a liking to from a character in a TV show or movie. As for personality, I would kind of say all of my characters are somewhat an extension of some part of me such as the headstrong and straight-forward/bluntness in some of my characters but also the somewhat quiet, kept to themselves for the most part character as well. Q: Out of all of your characters past or present, who would your favorite be and what roleplay were they in? A: Hm... I would say either my character Fallon in an off-site roleplay with Jaeger or Shay which was in an RP called Protect the Star :) Q: Has there ever been a roleplayer you have enjoyed working with the most? A: I can't really say I have a "favorite" person to RP with, but those I've done private RPs with, I tend to get along with and write well with. So, after a lengthy break from the PH Times, I have joined back up with them to bring you the best RP content out there… but I discovered I cant do it alone. So I have recruited the help of Immortes to do the RP Section. We will switch off weekly so prepare to see a whole different format and content… so lets start Q: What goes into the characters you make? For example are they based off of anyone you know? A: When creating characters, y'see, it entirely depends on my mood that day. If i'm feeling evil, i tend to rp as villains and the same goes the other way around. Sometimes when i see an rp i fancy i make characters on the spot, depending on my mood. there are some instances though, where i would rp as my ocs (and sometimes accidentally changing their personalities entirely which makes me iffy). For instance, Rafty, a character who one can say 'a delinquent', accidentally had a timid and shy persona and my entire mind went "???? who are you". Q: Out of all of your characters past or present, who would your favorite be and what roleplay were they in? A: Rockbell twins from Kamini's rp Renegade, for sure. When I first created Dante, I thought; "Dante's gotta have a reason why he has those bandages over his eyes right?" and thus, Emil was born. I wanted Dante to be a kind, caring and forgiving person while Emil was a cruel, sadistic and unforgiving man. The former still cares deeply for his twin despite having his ability to see taken away from someone he trusts. While Emil, the complete opposite. During the time I created their personalities, I kinda had an inner fight (?) with myself. Oftentimes I ask myself, should I act selflessly and put others before myself? Is it fine if I only looked and cared after myself? Q: Has there ever been a roleplayer you have enjoyed working with the most? A: There is! He was my first ever friend and rp partner, Black-AcE2. That time I was new to both ph and rp-ing and he guided me and even gave me some motivation! LucarioLand was also another close friend of mine who rp'ed together approximately 5-6 years ago? Time sure flies by so fast! Sadly both of them are neither active anymore. Q: What has your favorite roleplay on this site been so far? A: 1964 was the most fun rp I had! Everyone was friendly and we even made a separate group chat regarding the rp to elaborate more on our characters and such. Everyone was cooperative too! A bit bummed that it had to die out in the middle of it. My first rp (which was a pokemon rp) of course, holds a special place in my heart. Which rp was it, I will not mention due to how inexperienced i was back then xD Q: What has your favorite moment from roleplaying on Pokeheroes been? A: mm.....its usually finding new roleplayers! one of my pet peeves when roleplaying is one-liners. I'd say I'd fall under semi-lit? I guess? ah, i'm getting off topic now, im sorry. so yeah, new roleplayers. seeing a new face around makes my heart pound yannow? like "oh wow! a new person! i've gotta impress them, be up to par with them!" it kinda feels like meeting a new friend y'know? since sometimes we'd bump into each other in other rps (i'm looking at you, interviewer!), sometimes i would go "oh hey! its you!!" and kinda feel a small connection, you get me? Q: If you had to tell someone why they should roleplay, what would u tell them? A: Don't be afraid, explore! Go on my child! You're free to rp whatever you like! is what the mother figure in me would say ‘ashsbjsb’ but like as a writer, joining an rp is a good way to expand your writing and vocabulary and as a non-native English speaker, it helps for me! it can also help you come up with new ideas for writing stories, definitely. Myself, as a roleplayer, i like to participate in action/adventure-themed rps. I'm very, very, veeeery bad at writing fight scenes so roleplaying helps a lot. and as i said, roleplaying can help you come up with new ideas for writing stories. For example, I wrote The Tea Merchant (please give it a read) with ease based on my expertise in adventure-themed roleplays. I just had to design each character, set their characters and as I write, I would think; "Would the protagonist do this? Would they do that?" Kinda like DnD, I think. i don't know, i've only played one campaign and concluded that it's too scary for me--- Don't be afraid to explore your characters! If you feel like your character needs a little spice, maybe they need a little sprucing up, maybe try giving your timid, shy characters a rebellion arc, maybe you'll like it, maybe you won't, who knows? At the end of the day, it's up to you, the roleplayer, to be the judge of your own character. What Really

Updates! The Higher or Lower gamecenter game has received an update. You'll now receive your chip reward even if you lose (depending on how many correct answers you've given so far). This way, you no longer have to manually "End" the game. As this obviously makes the game much easier, the payout per round has been slightly decreased and the minimum amount of correct answers you need for a reward has been set to 6.
