Lauri scrunched up his nose as the laughter pierced through the room and the laugher's words weren't any less pleasant to hear. He'd like to think he's not one to judge people on first impressions alone, but this guy? This guy rubbed him the wrong way. Maybe this guy had the right idea to back out since he didn't sound at all like a person you'd want for saving the world business or someone you'd like watching your back while saving the world.

"Why are you here then?" Lauri found himself asking with a frown, slight annoyance coating his voice. Wasn't this what they were here for in the first place?

Late was still not good...

But since no on seemed to be truly upset with him, Lauri was content with letting the matter be for now. He relaxed his posture as Kayleigh started her little speech, taking the moment to slink back a bit and side-eye the others. Though the grim nature of the speech soon turned his attention back to their leader and had him shifting on his feet uneasily.

The reveal of Kayleigh's relation to the Assassin's leader and the very real threat to their lives surely didn't make it any less grim. Lauri swallowed the lump in his throat as he re-assured himself this was the right thing to do. ...He might be in greater danger on his own anyway. It'll be fiiine, just as Kayleigh said. As long as they've got a good plan and the plan goes to plan, the world will be fine. So focusing on the plan now, not the end of the world.

His inner monologue resolved for now, Lauri followed Kayleigh's gaze to one of people gathered about, the same lad that had interrupted her earlier. He seemed especially down by all this, which is understandable but still... The two of them seemed to be close by the looks of it. Would friends with that age gap be a tad weird? A teacher or mentor sort of thing? Or perhaps... As one of the others piped up his concerns, Lauri's brain brought back the comment Kayleigh made about her son not hesitating to kill even his own brother. Which... Oh.

Well, that was just cruel. So he should definitely pull himself together, the stakes weren't even that high for him, all things considered. Not that he was that close with his own brother anymore due to how life had gone, but he couldn't really imagine what that'd be like regardless.

Finding himself opening his mouth to say something, Lauri snapped it shut again and settled with giving them sympathetic looks as he hunched in on himself. Because whatever it is he, a stranger, could possibly say in this situation, it'd be worth nothing or worse.

So he settled for being quiet, taking a while to break his attention on the (presumably) mother and son duo and shifting his eyes on the one armed veteran of saving the world business by the sounds of it. One arm down or not, having experience on their side is always a good thing. Though the man himself didn't sound so confident...

This was terrible idea.

You'd think Lauri would've learned his lesson the first time but no. Here he was again, being roped into something way over his head after being too careless at the wrong place at the wrong time. Why couldn't he just not use his powers again? He shouldn't do this.

But he also should do this because it's the right thing to do. Well, and besides, this assassin business sounds like the kind of bad business that'd screw up his less than glamorous life sooner or later anyway. So it should be wiser to help people capable of stopping it before things get worse.

So he had accepted the invitation and spent a generous amount of time trying to research what exactly he was getting himself into this time. Unfortunately, the information on these people didn't seem to be readily available, which was probably wise to be fair. But not knowing what he would be walking into in that bar was making him nervous to say the least. So he had wasted his time weighing the merits of different introductions and how to greet his new allies in some misguided attempt to compensate. So now he was late.

This is a disaster!

Pacing back and forth close to the bar trying to get his bearings, Lauri rolled his shoulders in an attempt to relax. Which only made him aware of how he slightly regretted throwing on his grey denim jacket over his black T-shirt. Why had he thought trying to appear at least a bit presentable was important? It was all a waste now anyway! Everything ruined by his tardiness!

He just has to do this now. Somehow. He was capable of walking into a bar.

Wiping his sweaty palms on the fronts of his black cargo pants, Lauri squared up and bravely strolled over to the Hero Den or whatever they called their own hideout. Quietly entering, he hovered by the entrance for a moment after closing the door to take in the scene inside the establishment. Plenty of young people it seemed and... someone who looks like a person-sized cat? That was... unusual.

But it's rude to stare! Lauri quick reminded himself and snapped his gaze away from the poor girl. Instead, he focused his attention on Kayleigh Roman, the person running this show. He was tempted to just hang back but that didn't seem like a great strategy to be on decently good terms with important people. So he continued onward into the bowels of the bar and came to a stop a respectable distance away from Kayleigh.

"I'm sorry, I would've arrived sooner but I, uh... had a delay," He tried to explain but somehow it just sounded like a very flimsy excuse, which might be worse than not apologizing. Shoot! Lauri tensed up as he did his best to keep a neutral expression, weighing it best not to say anything more for now.

Quote♡ - Username: Finhawk
♡ - Character Name: Lauri Hämäläinen
♡ - Nickname(s): Larry
♡ - Age: 29
♡ - Gender: Male
♡ - Sexuality: Gay
♡ - Alignment: Good

♡ - Appearance: Lauri stands at 5'7'' and is in healthy and decent shape. Though he's not overly muscular and strength isn't his greatest asset. He has annoyingly blue eyes and dark blonde hair, sporting an overgrown undercut with the longer locks on the top of his head haphazardly tied into a very manly bun. In addition to that, he's most often seen with heavy stubble as he can be quite forgetful with personal grooming and has made peace with his varyingly haggard appearance.

His clothing style is primarily concerned with function and isn't coated in bright colors or pictures most of the time. As long as he's warm or cool enough, nothing is restricting his movements, and he has pockets, Lauri's good.

♡ - History: There's nothing particularly interesting about Lauri's childhood. Him and his little brother grew up in decent comfort in the care of their parents. The most dramatic happenstance in their lives at that time was their parents' divorce and their primary caregiver, their mother, remarrying sometime later. The divorce wasn't messy and the man trying to balance stepping up as parental figure without making it come off as trying to replace their father was objectively a good person. However, preteen Lauri had some major difficulties with adjusting to these new changes in his life and would often withdraw into himself, distancing himself from his family much to their worry.

Come his teens years and he also began struggling with what he should do with his life. Trying to figure out your life while you still haven't re-figured out your place in your family isn't the easiest feat for a teenager. He wanted to help people, that much was clear and it was a good enough starting point. Going to the medical field surely seemed like a viable option and that's what he was planning when he came across a different path to a similar destination. Curative magic.

Lauri came across a discreet faith healer whose healing in actuality had nothing to do with faith. Eeva Orava was a recluse with local superstitions about her floating about. Some shrugged it correctly as magic, others wanted to believe the even more supernatural rumours, and some dismissed it as hogwash or a straight up scam. Lauri decided to get to the bottom of it and there was no convincing him otherwise after he had made up his mind.

Following truth revealing schemes and shenanigans, Lauri found himself a mage's apprentice sworn to secrecy. Being old, Eeva wanted to pass her gifts down to the right person but didn't have descendants she'd deem worthy. Lauri was good enough for her though. The healing magic he was given and being taught to master came with limitations and pain, while the world has way more ailments than one person can ever hope to tackle. Lauri of course agreed to be discreet and not go around healing people without her approval. However, the more he learned the harder it became to ignore a person in pain when you knew you could help. So, slowly, he started slipping. Surely, healing a child's scraped knee here and curing someone's chicken pox there couldn't possibly hurt.

But it did. Eventually, word spread and people became aware of who he was when Lauri was in his early twenties. It didn't take long for him to be presented with a "job opportunity" of his lifetime. He'd be set up with a clinic of his own people would be charged to see him and he'd get paid instead of working minimum wage as cashier and getting hurt for other people on his free time. Somewhat blinded by the grand image of being sort of great martyr-healer figure, Lauri accepted and moved into the hustle and bustle of a bigger city in a bit of an uncharacteristic move.

At least he somewhat kept his promise and Eeva wasn't roped into it with him so she could spend her last years in peace. Though she was less than pleased by the development and cautioned him against it.

She was right of course as problems began popping up not soon after Lauri took his proud position.

No, I can't regrow your leg.
No, I can't make your burn scars go away.
No, I can't revive the dead.
No, I can't perform miracles!

But the ones he couldn't help were the lesser issue. The real problem was the people he could help, or more accurately, the number of them was. There's always another in line after he's done with one and any hint of him wanting a day off was met with judgement from some. How dare he want to lay around doing nothing all day when people are hurting and he could easily stop it?

How selfish.

So Lauri was stuck between a rock and a hard place when it became evident to him that he couldn't keep doing this. He might've been a good person who wanted to help people but he wasn't enough of a good person to be in near-constant pain for the rest of his life to continue helping people. So, he wanted to quit and that predictably didn't go over well.

There were those who were sympathetic to his plight and those who thought he shouldn't be allowed to just stop. A bit of an ethical debate was sparked. Is it justifiable to pretty much torture one person to save the lives of many others?

Lauri didn't stick around to ponder for long, however, and took the first opportunity to skip town and the whole damn country after he had a plan in place. He started over by going back to his minimum wage jobs elsewhere and started to go by Larry to better fit in so he wouldn't stand out as much. Adjusting for another drastic change in his life was a rough period regardless of how much planning he could have done but somehow he did achieve some sort of normalcy and rhythm in his life once more. He still misses his family and home he left behind however.

He'd still patch up the occasional scraped knee though because he just can't help himself.

♡ - Personality: At his core, Lauri is a good, loyal, and dutiful man. ...Up to a point. Despite being a bit of a doormat as he finds it hard to say no to a person in need and can be rather easily guilt-tripped, Lauri will eventually do what's best for himself if mistreated, taken advantage of or taken for granted. Though it'll likely take a while and he'll most likely feel guilty about it. Because he does take joy in helping others and goes out of his way to keep his word without seeking for reward or recognition for it. In fact, he can be a rather quiet individual and doesn't express strong emotions often, preferring to keep a low profile. Perhaps it's just his introversion, anxiety, or natural caution in action in a social setting.

He really prefers doing the whole shebang of recon and thorough planning from plan A to plan Z rather than jump into action with a half-baked idea of a plan. Although, it might be more that he's borderline unable to act without a decent plan. Inflexible would be a good word to describe Lauri. Once a plan has been set, that is the plan and he finds it really difficult to adjust the plan to unexpected curve-balls or setbacks and can't improvise to save his life. In short, he's the last person you'd want to ask for advice on the fly when things go awry.

♡ - Power(s): Health Manipulation - Lauri possesses the ability to sense the health of anyone around him and the cause of any decline (such as injuries or diseases) as well as heal and harm others.

Healing - By touching an injured person, Lauri can speed up the healing progress to the point of instantly closing wounds. However, as he's only speeding up the natural healing progress, scarring still occurs and he can't restore lost limbs. Though if he had both the arm and its owner at hand immediately after the person lost it, it would be possible for him to reattach it.

There is no limit to how much he can theoretically heal but, unfortunately, this healing process is not pleasant for Lauri. Healing an injury or disease causes him pain in accordance with how severe the ailment is and, as he's only human, there's only so much he can take regardless of how much of a saint or martyr he may or may not aspire to be.

Harming - To heal himself, Lauri can do the reverse: Touch another person and cause them pain in order to mend his own health. So this is obviously a bit of a limited application as he has to be injured to use it and the punch he can pack is limited by how injured he is.

However, he has never used this part of his power and even though he knows it's theoretically possible, he has never had any interest in ever attempting it. Thus there's no knowing if he could even pull it off under pressure.

♡ - Other Abilities: Thanks to the usage of his power, Lauri has developed a higher pain tolerance than most. He's also quick on his feet even though his wits might not be as swift to take full advantage of it.

♡ - Password: Green
♡ - Other: I hope it's fine I fiddled with things a bit according to what I found easier to read since I ended up with more words than intended. :,]

Also, there's not a lot of information on how the magic system in this world works so I suppose I did whatever I felt like and realized too late it might not work with what you have in mind. Let me know if things don't make sense and I'll do my best to fix it.

If the second part of his potential power is too close to Aelin's, we can scrap that and just have him limited to healing.

Well, yes and no. A higher trainerlevel unlocks different places/activities which get you access to some rarer pokemon. (For example, the Safari Zone and the Emera Beach) The wiki page I linked also has details on what you unlock at which levels.

But a higher level doesn't alter what pokemon you get from the lab for example. In case that's what you were wondering.

TL;DR: Hoenn or Johto in my opinion.

Kanto - Hard, due to ditto and the bird trio being rare lab adopts or expensive gem collector trades. Mew requires you to wait for a certain time of the year but isn't hard if you save up some DP before that.

Johto - Easier, collecting the unowns might take some work but you can always trade for them too. The doggos and lugia aren't too hard to obtain yourself and if Game Center isn't your cup of tea, they're not the rarest or expensive legends. Ho-oh is probably the biggest roadblock here.

Hoenn - Similarly on the easier side. Castform shouldn't be hard if you keep your eye on the weather. The regis might be tricky to get yourself if you're not good at the royal tunnel but, again, not the hardest to get through trade. The other legends are summon items that might take a while to get yourself or trade for but should be perfectly doable.

Sinnoh - A bit trickier due to many different legends. If you don't do a lot of interacting and thus not a lot of golden slot, uxie, mesprit and azelf could be a bit of an expensive find. Dialga, palkia, and heatran are more summons so not a big issue. As well as giratina, but that minigame is difficult for some. Manaphy is not an issue if you're a regular at the game center but cresselia and darkrai can be harder to get and more expensive to trade for. Shaymin is a bit of a timing issue if you wanna get it yourself since it's only available through interacting at a certain time, but you could probably trade for it.

Unova - Not as hard as it used to be thanks to victini becoming easier to obtain. But again, there's a bunch of legends with a lot of different ways to get them so what you find easy may differ. Tornadus, thundurus, and landorus might be tricky if you only play on mobile or simply don't like the safari zone. Cobalion, terrakion, and virizion will take some time and effort in the berry garden so that's too bad if you're not a fan of gardening. Reshiram, zekrom, and keldeo are more summons so not that hard with a bit of patience and/or luck or money. Kyurem is another timed thing similar to shaymin. Meloetta will take some time playing things at the emera square, though the berry battles are a great way to amass some festival points in a short time if you can participate.

Kalos - Will probably take some time but not that hard if you have the patience. With xerneas, yveltal, and all the zygarde formes requiring a bunch of gems, saving up might be a long time project but it is a fairly simple project. Thanks to the dream world update that gives you gems for sending out plushies, that project has also become a little easier. Hoopa and volcanion should we fairly easy to get with a bit of hunting and fishing or you can get them by trading easier than a lot of other legends.

Alola - Plenty of summons here again so luck and time or a bunch of money needed. Namely, cosmog and its evolutions and the ultra beasts, you've got your work cut out for you with that. Miniors are gonna require some trading and/or breeding but I'd say not the hardest acquisition. For tapus, you gotta remember to hop in here to interact at the right times and may require a different amount of months to achieve depending on your available time and internet connection. Zeraora is another timed interaction like shaymin or kyurem so yet again some waiting and interacting or trading to do. Halloween is a bit far away now so marshadow is gonna be a bit of a wait if you wanna get one yourself, it should be easier to trade for than many other legends though since I think there's users trying to hatch a shiny yearly after it was released so there's surplus floating around. Meltan is another summon but seems to be a bit harder to get your hands on still even though it's been around a while now? Magearna, well, more game chips needed to sink there and a lot of luck.

Galar - A bit trickier on the region variants than alola since you gotta please the gem collector to unlock more recruitable pokemon. But if you use a lot of gems filling up other dexes, this may be an easy task for you. The fossils and eternatus don't seem to be that hard to fish up, but you need a fisherman hat for the latter and that may take a while to get if you don't wanna spend a lot of money. Zacian and zamazenta are harder still since their summons and forme change items aren't yet in the mystery boxes as far as I'm aware.

So, at the end, I'd say Hoenn or Johto might be the easiest dex to complete in my humble opinion but again, you may find a different dex easier depending on what you find to be an easy activity here on PH and what's more difficult for you.

Price Check

It's not accurate with everything on the site so looking around for how much others are asking for something is indeed a good strategy. But the price check is usually a good place to start getting some kind of idea of how much things are worth.

Good old normal pokemon don't usually sell for much (unless they're brand new), which is why people oftentimes just release them to free up space rather than put up auctions and wait for them to finish to get a lil' bit of pocket change.

I tend to just toss hunt extras into auctions starting at 1 PD and don't really even look at what I get. I mostly do it in case people need them for the dex or whatever else so they don't go to waste by just releasing them, there's not much profit to be had there. (Scrolling through my sales now, most of them went for under 100 PD. Newer galar pokemon have broken 1000 PD few times.)

For riolu, 100 PD seems like a decent enough starting bid since that's still not a lot of money either. If you don't get bids, then you might wanna consider lowering it.

Here's the wiki page on trainerlevel for you. It should help you out.

I suppose simply adopting and hatching eggs while interacting actively seems like a good stable way of leveling up while filling your pokedex. (Hatching rarer eggs give you more trainerpoints so that's something to keep in mind while at it.)
