"You may not pass," It said angrily. "Only those pure of heart are allowed. What you are doing, deserting your friends, is not being pure of heart." Its horns flashed brightly as the deer reared like a horse, its hooves stamping against the air. A barrier formed in front of it, spreading until the Binaries were trapped on the outside. The deer shimmered brightly, a silver glow encasing it. When it vanished, the deer was as good as new. Oh, not to forget the antlers, glowing gold with power. It shot a blast of silver light at the unworthy mortals, blinding anyone who attempted to look at it. [Read more] |

The blood of Diana. She scoured her brain for any information on this thing. Nothing. With a disgruntled sigh, she summoned her knapsack with some difficulty, before starting to rummage through it. It mostly contained odd bits and ends needed for camping, but it also had its fair share of books. The starlight seemed to beckon to a purple book rimmed with gold, and Ana immediately flipped it open, perusing the table of contents. Her breath hitched when she spotted the chapter title "Diana", and immediately flipped to the page. There were several pages on it, all explaining about how Diana was the Roman form of Artemis, goddess of the hunt. Ana skimmed through them until the end, where something caught her eye. "The goddess Diana was one who respected nature. Many claim to have found plants and trees that sprouted in the places where Diana battled and was wounded, saying that her blood was such a great sacrifice to the earth that it sprouted the most powerful healing plants. It is also claimed that only those who have learned to respect and understand nature can use a "blood of Diana." Those who do not, will be faced with the wrath of Diana's holy animals." Analissa swallowed the lump in her throat, her mouth suddenly dry. How could they possibly get to that plant, when a goddess' power kept it safe from prying humans? [Read more] |

Dei met the "old man's" gaze evenly as she bit into the meat. "We're not from this universe, as we told you before," She replied, ignoring his question. Cliantha silently plopped down on the blanket, spearing another piece of venison with a silver dagger. "We only have enough food for two of us, but there's plenty of fruit going around," she informed them. [Read more] |

"Now look at what you've done!" Cliantha scolded Dei. "That Angel girl is fast," Clia noted before turning her attention back to the problem. "No fighting. Please. Dei is just a feminist and enjoys turning people into guinea pigs like our old mistress," Cliantha tiredly explained. "And oh, a mage from another universe? Ironic, we're sorceresses." "And I know you're androphobic, Dei. You don't need to explain yourself," She added, snapping her fingers in a matter-of-fact way. "Fine," Dei mumbled, swiping her hand in the air in front of her, causing a ripple to go through the air and cleanly pluck another apple from a nearby tree. It floated towards her outstretched palm and Dei bit into it loudly, in a very unladylike way. "I'm starving," she defended herself. As the girl with the necklace introduced herself, Cliantha nodded politely. "Cool. I always wondered how machines could talk." [shoot guys I gtg and Scarlet don't leave!] [Read more] |

Meh. Pretend they were asking all four of you guys x.x but Cliantha only directly addressed Raika because of her sarcasm necklace. And they were arguing a bit with each other, so it pretty much covers up why they mostly ignored the others. Okay. That clear up things? Yeaah, hopefully.] [Read more] |

Both girls warily exchanged glances. He didn't seem like a threat...and even if he was, two against one was a pretty bad disadvantage. Then another girl popped out of nowhere. Now, she looked anything but normal, but Dei and Clia didn't dwell on that. "Probably because we're from a different universe as well," Cliantha remarked nonchalantly, letting her bow drop and shimmer away. Deianira really did not want to face a male unarmed, but she reluctantly followed in suit, dropping her bow. Her silver orbs seemed to be trying to pierce through the boy's soul. Cliantha inwardly sighed with relief, and turned her attention to the situation at hand. "Assuming you are telling the truth - and to be honest, we'd probably at least give you a run for your money - and that you aren't trying to fight us, I'm not going to attempt to vaporize you like the last male I saw," Dei finally stated in a neutral tone. "Dei! Don't frighten him! And we did agree on no more vaporizing males!" Cliantha protested loudly. "Fine," Dei huffed. "But if he tries anything, I'm turning him into a guinea pig." [[OOC: References references.]] Cliantha shook her head and offered the strangers an apologetic half-smile, hopefully making up for her companion's behavior. "Nice necklace," She commented to the strange girl. "Anyway, what type of dream world is this place? I know it's not anchored, even a radioactive rabbit could tell you that." "Radioactive rabbits are overrated," Dei mumbled. "Okay, have to agree with that," Cliantha admitted before going back to addressing the strangers. "Apologies, we haven't introduced ourselves. Cliantha Psyche Ambrose," she bowed formally. "I swear your toleration of males is going to get us killed one day," Dei muttered under her breath, just loud enough for Clia to hear. "Deianira Achilles the Second," she introduced herself nevertheless, mimicking Clia's bow. "And you two are...?" [Read more] |

Dei let out a low growl - she still disliked and distrusted men. Cliantha, however, kept a neutral expression, her hand poised to shoot an arrow straight at the stranger's heart. There was something wrong with him, however. Something...not normal. Cliantha lowered her bow cautiously, her eyes uneasily shifting to their queer one blue and one green color. "Cliantha, what are you doing?" Dei hissed indignantly. "You're not human. You're not from this universe are you?" Cliantha narrowed her mismatched eyes. Dei paused to see the aura around the boy, and frowned, her gorgeous face dimming slightly as she lowered her weapon. "That...you give off the same vibe like she did," Dei murmured out loud, referring to Talia. "Yeah, he does. Would you happen to know anything about this dream world? You're clearly not normal," Cliantha questioned him. "And don't lie. We can tell if you're lying or not." [Read more] |

The buzzing of metal had faded to a dim hum, so Cliantha and Deianira decided that it probably wasn't too much of a threat. "Unless a nuclear bomb shoots out of the ground," Cliantha offered dryly. Dei shook her head, smiling at her friend as she began to rummage through her knapsack. The first seeds which had been planted were already at least seven feet high, and bursting with fruit. It hardly took an ounce of energy for the girls to lazily flick their wrists, plucking them right off to fall readily onto the blanket they had spread on the ground. To balance out the picked fruit, Dei retrieved some smoked venison left from their last hunt in her knapsack, and with their jugs of nectar, their meal was ready. "This is a really interesting dream world," Clia remarked before biting into a juicy apple. "I must say I agree. It certainly feels real," Dei agreed, absentmindedly taking a sip of nectar. Clia's brow furrowed as she put down her half-eaten apple. "I'm worried about those life forms, to be completely honest with you." Not honest enough to tell you who my real father is," Clia added mentally with an inward grimace. Dei shot her a dazzling smile that had captured the hearts of so many men. "You are a worrywart. I'm fairly certain those shield spells will keep them out." Cliantha nearly choked on a bite of venison. "You used that magic? In here?" Dei waved her hand dismissively. "That magic seems to be the only thing not affected by the difference of the dimensions. It will keep out anyone, and at least give them trouble." Clia sighed reluctantly, taking a sip of nectar. "Oh, alright. But do remember what she said. That magic messes with the very matter of every world." "I am no fool, Clia," Dei quietly replied. "We saw those creatures in the forest. This is not a safe world." Cliantha merely shrugged, letting her gaze wander to the rapidly growing forest. Their spells, she noted happily, had worked wondrously. The image of the barren land was already fading from their memories, the forest giving off a warm, friendly vibe. [Read more] |

^In defense of this rather long post.] "Anything?" Dei softly whispered to her companion. In reply, Cliantha grimly shook her head. The forest seemed deserted of any normal creature, and when they did hear sounds, they were fast to disappear. "This is definitely a dream. No forest in our world would ever be like this," Dei sighed, letting go of her bow. As the bow free fell to the ground, it shimmered and vanished along with the quiver of arrows on Dei's back. Cliantha kept her hold onto hers, her warm brown eyes warily scanning their surroundings. "I don't know, Dei," She finally said. "The air...it smells so different. Like there is a desert nearby." Dei's silver-gray eyes widened a fraction before she leaped stealthily to the right, hastily disappearing through a thicket of trees. Any normal person would have found it impossible to follow her and catch up, but Clia was anything but normal. Speeding up her pace, she wove through the trees, finally catching up with her friend. Both of them halted as they took in the sight before them. The land right next to the forest looked like it had been a test field for several nuclear bombs. It was completely barren, and not a single plant in sight. Dei incredulously glanced back at the lush forest behind them, then shook her head angrily. "Even for a dream, this place was not naturally like this," She stated darkly. Clia nodded, splaying her own hand and watching grain of dust rise into her palm, reforming into a small flower. She let the flower fall back to the ground, morosely watching it disintegrate as it did so. "Someone, or some people did this," She agreed bitterly. Their times spent as Hunters of Artemis had made them grow respect for nature. Seeing a once beautiful forest like this was extremely painful for them. The forests and mountains in their world were their shelters, their homes. They had long since lived in the wilderness, both respecting it and harnessing it to their needs, never their wants. Nature was a gift to be utilized and respected, not obliterated. The two girls watched the barren land solemnly for some time before Clia decided to do something about it. She twirled her left pinkie finger in the air steadily, churning the air. A velvet pouch of seeds dropped into her palm. Dei took one look at her and immediately knew what she was planning. "Let us hope our magic has not been depleted by the elements of this dream world," Dei stated as she raised her hands, her palms facing outwards. Storm clouds began to brew right overhead, flocking together like sheep. As Dei started to chant, they increased in number. "Lightning, thunder, rain, and earth. Join of power from a new baby's birth. Barren and forsaken land, bear fruit once more, and be not sand!" Instantaneous effect. Rain suddenly came down in torrents, flooding the dead earth with water, washing the gritty sand away, and making the earth swell like a mother with a baby bump. As soon as this was all done (which was pretty much in a matter of an hour), the rain shut off like a faucet and the storm clouds dispersed, clearing the sky. Dei sat down contentedly as Clia urged the wind to blow the assortment of seeds all over the place. Storm magic was powerful, but the most powerful spells - like the one Deianira just cast - enervated even the most skilled magic-users of their strength. Despite being descended from Zeus himself, Dei could still feel the weariness wash over her, the aftereffects of casting such a spell. "Can you sense any other life form around and where they might be?" Dei questioned her friend once Clia had finished scattering the seeds. Clia prodded a newly grown sprout with the toe of her boot. Magic worked wonders with nature, since nature was a magic of its own caliber. "Underground and the forest. I'm good with underground," Clia muttered lamely. Despite their long friendship (roughly four millennium), Dei still had no clue on Cliantha's lineage. As a daughter of Hermes, she was good with roads, even underground. Combined with her vast knowledge of magic, it had become almost another sense to detect roads and passageways and such. Detecting life forms, however, came from Talia's teachings. "Hm..." Dei's silvery orbs gazed deeply at the ground beneath her feet. "We could try to use a few earth spells, but in all honesty, this ground isn't completely dirt. Can you hear it?" Both fell silent as Cliantha strained to hear what Dei was talking about. Then, she heard it - a faint buzzing. "Metal," Both girls immediately realized. Both of them had lived long enough to see metal evolve through the ages. Their sharp senses gained from their times as Hunters enabled them to discern sounds that a normal human couldn't. The two girls locked eyes, coming to agreement silently. [Read more] |
