Taiko got up and swept the dust off his clothing with his guilty hands, taking a deep breath and frowning as he stared at the floor. This was a problem, a problem he didn’t know if he could avoid. He wasn’t exactly pleased with Hyde’s actions before this instance, and he wasn’t pleased with him now. In fact, the whole ordeal just made him a bit more wary and avoiding of him. Well, not just a bit, but really a drastic amount... He heard a sound coming from downstairs, something that sounded like a cluster of people. He knew Noel was very secretive and careful about their location, which gave him the idea that these people were allies of some sort. Either way, he didn’t exactly want a part in it. He decided to go and greet them anyways, maybe it wasn’t as bad as he thought. He treaded carefully down the stairs and made his way to the entrance, where he saw two small... humans? Well he couldn’t really say that about the cyan colored figure, but the one accompanying it certainly seemed so. He also saw a few more people behind them, but it was hard to see from his position due to the amount of people blocking his vision. He said nothing and watched instead, his main focus was the injuries the newcomers had.

Flay had noticed that her group had gone off without her, which she was fine with. She would’ve refused if they went and got her anyways. Still... They were talking about a base, right? The winged person talked about somewhere safe, didn’t they? That would mean that there were others there, others that might know of a way to end her misery... right? No, she couldn’t think negative like that. Was it really the best option to just die because she was in pain? If they knew of a way to do that, there might be a possibility they knew how to stop the pain without her life being taken... Either way would’ve been fine with her, it was better than sitting here forever anyways. She slowly got up, hardly wincing as her joints moved and her skin flexed. She walked around aimlessly, trying to remember the direction they had headed. To make it easier on herself, she used her long forgotten telekinesis to allow her to make less movements. After what seemed like hours to her, she finally made it to a strange building in a mountain. She walked in slowly, following her allies only to be greeted with quite a few people that made her uneasy. She stayed low, hoping no one had noticed her.

Flay watched the commotion outside through a small opening, uninterested in moving from her position. She could go out there and join them... or she could just stay here, not having to endure more pain than she already had to. Yeah... the second option was better... The bandages covering her unusual wounds would fall off if she moved around too much anyways... She had her head against the walls of the truck while looking into the opening, making it look like she was asleep. She absentmindedly stared at the 3 as the weird gun threatening went on, unsure of what she was supposed to be doing. While staring into oblivion, a few words managed to reach her, words such as “base”, “Ripley”, and “Benton”. The rest of the words were left in the sea her head was swimming in, unable to make its way to her. Not like it mattered... She didn’t need to know anyways... She couldn’t even let out a sigh, not even a reaction to the sudden burst of pain all over her body.

So... he could smell it? How could he smell the blood, but not hear the scream? At least, Taiko didn’t think he had heard it... To be fair, a lot of blood was drawn so it wasn’t exactly impossible to smell it from such a distance. He swallowed the lump in his throat and did his best to hide his nervousness. “Injured? No... I don’t think so... Come to think of it, I might’ve smelled something strange but didn’t bother to try and find the source.” He began to rub the back of his neck as he spoke, unsure of whether he had said enough or too much. Right after he had finished talking, he heard a very faint thud, most likely coming from outside. He turned his head slightly to face the wall, but decided to ignore it for now.

Of course he was hurt. As soon as Hyde got off of him, he tried to back away, only to be met with a wall. He could barely hear distinctive words through the accent and pace of his apology. “Uhh...” how could he respond to something he couldn’t understand? The only things he could make out from that mess was “Sorry” and “hurt”. Before he knew it, Hyde’s hands were over him like some type of scanner. Small scrapes were healed, but as soon as those hands made their way to his legs, they jumped. “Did I really hit you so hard that you’re bleeding?” Was the response to the unpleasant discovery. Taiko was shocked as well, not only due to the rediscovery of Hyde’s abilities, but what he did with it. “T-thanks... Sorry about that...” he said quickly, trying to avoid any awkward questions or anything of the sort

At least he had made it to the hallway. The pain in his leg was somehow simultaneously fading away and coming in a sharp wave with every step. Pure agony. He walked through the hallway silently and at a steady pace, his goal being the stairs. The faint sound of a door being swung open echoed around him. He was startled by this, yes, but again he figured it was probably just something happening. But wait... Wasn’t that from outside? There were only a few people left outside, and all but one of them didn’t seem to be in a rush or anything that would cause them to do that to the poor door. Oh no. Was he onto something? Was he just running around with no rhyme or reason? No, of course he wasn’t. His first thought was to run, but Hyde catching up to him or even seeing him would make him one suspicious individual, if he wasn’t already. He just continued walking, like he was previously. That is, until he had suddenly found himself on the floor, a good amount of weight also seemed to be on top of him. “What the-“ after a cough or two and a turn of Taiko’s head, he paused. There was someone else here. Taiko sharply lifted his head to try and identify the new presence that woke him up in the first place. His eyes locked onto Hyde, the supposed presence that he was so worried about. A few, brief moments passed and Hyde had walked off, but in a particular way. Was he looking for something? He shouldn’t worry... He was left alone to his own devices once again and Hyde didn’t seemed to be bothered when he looked at him. After the speculations that roamed his mind departed, he reluctantly climbed down the tree and tried to find his way back. The sun rises in the east... and sets in the west... The building was north, right? Even still, he could barely see the sun from under the blanket of these trees. Before looking up to identify the sun’s location, he happened to glance at his leg. There was still some blood he couldn’t clean up and it had seeped into the fabric of the pants, leaving a stain. His pants were a dark gray, making it a bit hard to see it but that didn’t change the fact that it was still there. Guess he just had to go to his room and change unnoticed, shouldn’t be that hard, right? He wouldn’t be able to be as quick when jumping between their line of sight due to his still healing leg. Thankfully he recovered tremendously quickly due to his ability, but it wasn’t instant. His slight limp could be an issue but it didn’t seem like it... He quickly adverted his attention to the task at hand, finding his way home. By using the little sun he was able to see, he managed to make it back. From there, he quietly entered the door and tried his best to make it back to his room.

After hearing a loud thud coming from behind him, he closed his eyes and let out a frustrated sigh. Good grief... How much longer could he stay here? He knew he couldn’t just walk away, he would be killed. This was the only place he was safe, but even then it felt like he was standing on a land mind field. One small slip up and kaboom. He looked to the left of him to see the training area, a place he refused to go. If he used too much of his energy, he would have to eat something. He would usually cut off a piece of himself to fill that need, but doing that too much in such a short amount of time would kill him. He quickly diverted his eyes to the forest that he had planned to go to, then walked over. After making sure no one followed after walking in the thicket a fair distance, he sat down at the base of a tree and took out a simple pocket knife, nothing like the one Hyde had in his possession. He took off his jacket and pulled his legs to his chest. He couldn’t help but to stare at the knife with deep regret every time he pulled it out... After a while he had managed to prepare himself and started rolling up his pant leg, revealing a deeply scarred limb. He took a deep breath, and... Slice... A pained, but muffled scream was let out as blood began to run down the pale and wounded leg.

After he had cleaned up he decided not to go back to the building just yet, instead he just climbed into a tree and laid down.

All Taiko did was give a nod, then walked off. As soon as he walked away from sight, a shudder that had been suppressed was let out. Well that was unpleasant... He had finally made his way to the bottom floor where the kitchen was, but made sure to stay out of sight. As much as he was starving, he couldn’t really go in there anyways. He had sat down at the table, even when he insisted on not having a plate. Surely they would catch on that something was off about him soon. He made a terrible mistake mentioning that his “special ability” was growing stronger the more he ate, but he never specified what he needed to eat. No one had seen him eat a single thing the entire time he was here... He decided that the simple solution was to just not go to the kitchen and eat in his room, he didn’t have the choice of flat out telling them the horrifying power he had. He sighed and quietly made his way to the door, hoping to have a little more free time outside.

As he made his way down the building, a soft ching stopped him dead in his tracks. The sound of metal rubbing against metal could only mean that it was a knife of some sorts, maybe a pocket knife. His breathing began to hasten and his eyes began to wonder. Should he really be worrying this much about such a little thing, but he was. He turned to see Hyde walking along quite far behind him, which somewhat settled his nerves. Still... The fact that he had a knife made him uneasy. What would he use it for? Most importantly, why was he so paranoid about it? Taiko tried taking a few slow breaths to calm him down, which surprisingly worked, before continuing to walk to the bottom floor

It wouldn’t be a trip if one of the members of the party got lost, now would it? Geo had decided to fill that role, unknowingly of course. One wrong turn ruined the route, leading him off course and missing out on the mission. All he did was sigh and cursed the gps for being so damn inaccurate, then turned around and headed to his destination. After a few minutes he finally arrived, only to be greeted with a fight that seemed to not be going too well. He was only able to see a small part of it though, as he was still in his car and unable to see much beyond the entrance. Even after the whole ordeal back at the bar, he was still quite indecisive. Should he just stay in his car and watch? It’s not like the fight was one-sided... The other option was to get out and try to help, but he didn’t like the idea of it. He would rather not involve himself and potentially be a hinderance to Kendall, but then again his involvement might be able to do something. Not much thought later and Geo had laid back in his seat. He shouldn’t go out... Not yet at least...

Taiko had never felt more at peace in his life. Everything was calm and quiet, he was finally allowed to have no care in the world. He never imagined that Colorado of all places would be where he became free. At the break of dawn he had went outside and watched the sun rise over the trees, listened as the birds sang their wake up song, and felt the morning dew fall onto the grass and his skin. He had been sitting on the highest point he could, the roof, for quite a while. The feeling of sitting out in the quiet wake of the sun filled him with hope and peace. As soon as Noel came to the roof, the thin blanket of silence was broken. Another presence ended the wondrous feeling that he had been embraced in. Of course, he had almost forgotten Hyde was on the rooftop with him due to how little he affected the so called “blanket”. He sighed, but didn’t turn to face Noel, instead he simply replied to the appearance with a “Good morning”. He slowly stood up, placed his hands in his pockets, and made his way to the ground below.
