i agree with lawliet to a degree, the cheaters should be punished, but unfortunately because of the way the "rule" was worded, they could have just been too stupid to realize that telling the code word was bad (even though it was stated quite clearly telling the code word would hurt everyone's chances, not just their own)

and this is why i say let the cheaters lay low for now, because even though a good deal of them were malicious, a equally good part of them were probably just ignorant.

for the next big event put a clear defined list of rules and say quite clearly that any broken rule for the event would end in being banned for a certain time limit which could be anywhere from 1 day to eternity.

then if people try and feign ignorance you can just get rid of them, no more cheaters :)

also @CarpetMonster it doesnt matter if it was stated as advice, it was clearly stated that sharing the code word would hurt everyone, not just yourself, and in the code of ethics that is a clear and defined act of wrong doing if something you do hurts someone other than yourself. so even for the most advanced english speaker this "advice" was clear that you were not to do it under no circumstance.

ya i cant support this suggestion because i have 700+ pokemon and all the pokemon i dont want to evolve have everstones, i agree putting 500+everstones on pokemon all at once would be a nightmare, but if you put a everstone on each pokemon when you get them then it becomes much easier.

i also dont "not support" the idea because it will definately make for easier mass clicking (srry for the double negative lol)

@everyone who doesnt understand why sharing the code word was cheating

if you were told that out of 60,000 players here on pokeheroes. that only 3 could remain and everyone else was banned, but there would be a contest to determine who got to stay. (drastic over-exaggeration i know, but stay with me)

then this exact mystery game was put in, and it said "But be careful: Do not tell anyone your code word! Remember that the more users who submit the correct word, the lower are your chances to win."

and then the game continued as it had in real life, at the end with 70% sharing the code word, but this time Riako said whatever they got the code word we'll put them in, and then 3 people who hadn't solved any of the mysteries but had been told the code word had won, would you feel cheated???

in summary, just because a rule isn't stated as a rule doesnt mean it isn't a rule, if you weren't told that robbing a bank was against the law would you be surprised when you got in trouble for it? sometimes we need common sense.

@Dimension0 the story with the old man and the darkrai goes like this, (from memory sorry if a bit hard to follow)

the man travels the world with his umbreon, they come across a dark box, a box he cant open, all of a sudden a shadow begins to follow him, every night he stumbles deeper and deeper into chaos, the nightmares continue, so he hides the box where his pokemon friends will keep it safe, still the nightmares continue, the children, the children want to steal his box, so finally he kidnaps the children and his sanity breaks, he does something unforgivable and is forever lost to chaos.

source material is the diary fragments from the mysteries, the lost child who haunts you and gives you her drifloon, and the darktober event description in the index.

the main reason people "cheated" was because they were under the impression that telling people the answers to the mysteries wasnt cheating.... i have no idea why??? but please dont let their ignorance ruin future events, i really enjoyed this event and even though i had absolutely no chance figuring out the code word lol, i still got to have fun with the mysteries :) . so please please dont let the cheaters ruin our events, it was great and most of the cheaters were just ignorant. (despite plenty of hashtag prodding and pleading not too give answers away :( )
