Title: Chapter 1 - - Epic Space Ride

Even as they were millions of miles away, the planet’s explosion was seeable from the next galaxy over. There were sadness and hopelessness in the air. Without Shard, the galaxy would fall into chaos. If their mission was to succeed, they needed to act fast. “Hull at 89%, oxygen will last 15 days.” Flare said “Arriving at Earth in 9 days.” I sat there, blankly. This isn’t right, how did we lose? Volt had small tears running down his cheeks. Azul had helped Volt with most of his training, so her loss affected him most. I stared out the window. Space was awesome, besides the pirates. “Hey guys, we have a problem…” Said Flare, a worried tone in her voice. On the radar, several objects started to appear. “Please tell me that’s not an asteroid field,” Volt said. “It’s an asteroid field,” Flare replied. “We can’t go through that!” Volt exclaimed. “We have no choice, ”Flare countered “If we go around, Calypso will find us.” “Do we have any shields?” I asked. “We do, but it won’t last the entire ride,” Volt said as he looked through the pod’s states. “Weapons?” Flare gave me a look you give an idiot. “This is a simple pod, used for recon. No, it doesn’t have weapons!” Out of the corner of my eye, something flashed a light blue. “What was that?” I asked. “What,” Asked Flare “There’s nothing on the radar, probably a comet.” There was a moment of silence, then Volt and I fell back as Flare went into full throttle into the field. “What are you doing?!!?!” Yelled Volt “You’ll get us all killed!” “Yeah, we’ll watch this!” Flare yelled back. I have never seen Flare fly before, but she was pretty good at it. She managed to go about 70% of the way before being slightly skimmed by an asteroid. Volt was holding on for dear life. Me, on the other hand, was having a blast. Flare suddenly slowed down as we exited the field. “There, see. Made it.” Flare said. “I’m gonna throw up,” Volt said, sickened
