I think saying that they are 'easier' to obtain than other boxes may not actually be correct, mainly because you get other boxes by rumbling, which is passive, while you have to interact to get GGC, which takes time and effort that could've been utilized on some other activity, whether in real life or in game.

But then again, they are not so extremely rare that you deserve to get 500k PD or a crazy high amount of berries from them. While I don't think that we should be able to get something like 500K PD from the box, but the chance of finding a rare item should be buffed a little bit. I have opened multiple gold boxes and the rarest item that I got, if I recall correctly, is deep sea tooth.

Some low value items should also be available from them, because, seriously, what is the fun of opening a mystery box, when you already know that you are gonna get something super rare. (not fun, is it?)

So, instead of having low value items removed, or adding large amount of PD or berries to the boxes, I suggest improving the chance of getting rarer items from gold boxes, not by too much (we don't want OP gold boxes, now do we?), but still by a rate that may be noticeable.
