"Wh--no, Willow, jesus christ! Did you even hear the gunshot?! I sure hope Jinx has nothing to do with this," Rowan snapped sarcastically, running until his sides began to ache. He slowed down a bit, looking over his shoulder once again. They were too far for Willow to wander back and stumble upon the corpse.
"Listen," he said, panting. "I'm sorry that your... delivery or whatever had to be interrupted like that. I'll walk you to the delivery spot, yeah? That way neither of us are alone." He offered a cheeky lopsided smile, pulling his hand away from hers.

"Justin, she's literally harmless. Fallow is Dawn's sister. She's only fourteen and she's the youngest one out of their damned group," she replied firmly, more annoyed about how it complicated things with Fallow. "The girl is gullible and I need you to keep up the damn act, okay?" Belle crossed her arms. Her voice softened only slightly when she added, "She couldn't use her fantasy powers to save her damn life. You'll be fine."

Wither nodded curtly but clenched her jaw. She had promised Castiel that she would help him confess to Tony once they were in a safe space... but progress was progress and she was willing to take it for now. Void, realizing that there was nothing he could to do help Kurai, padded back over to Wither and leaned on her leg. She looked down at him and sighed, her relief suppressed with her worry for Magnolia's health.
"Is there anything I could do to help--"
Wither put up a hand and cut off Kaleidoscope before she could finish her sentence. "I don't think you're fit for working closely with corpses, Kali. I'm sure Spectrum is frazzled as well and she probably needs you. Thank you, though."
Kali pinched her lips and nodded. "Good luck," she said tersely before turning around and going back into her animal form to pad off back to her companion.
Void and Wither walked back to Magnolia's room to deal with the angel nurse, chatting softly.

Marshall stared at her for a moment, taken aback, but reassuringly put his arm over her shoulders.
"Shh, Viola, it'll be okay... We know Fallow is safe--she's with her sister. I'm sure Maxwell will turn out to be alright, he's capable of taking care of himself. Everything will be alright, yeah?" He cooed softly.

"W-wolf?... wait, are you...?" Fallow's posture snapped up and faint recognition fitted her face. Her eyes, bloodshot from lack of sleep, were wide and glossy with water again. Her hand began to shake again.
F--king hell, Justin, Belle hissed mentally, leaping up from the couch and laughing it off.
"Cedar is a griffin, dummy. You really need some sleep. This is Fallow--Fallow, this is Justin. Or Umbra. We'll explain later." She calmly laced her fingers with his and yanked him away from the living room and towards their bedroom, wanting to get the frazzled Justin as far away from Fallow as possible.
"Hold on just a moment before you two get acquainted, I need to talk to Justin~" She said in a singsong voice before closing the door behind them and glowering at Justin.
"Get yourself together, mate, I don't think she'll appreciate knowing her lil' boyfriend is chained up in our barn," Belle snapped in a soft voice, her teeth gritted together. She blinked sharply and stepped back from him. "Hold on, does she know you?"

"Fal, don't freak out," Dawn said calmly, putting a hand on her sister's head and scuffling her scarlet hair affectionately. "Justin--Umbra--has had a bit of a rough past. I know he's made mistakes before, Jasper's told me, but he's different now and deserves a second chance."

It was only after he squeezed the trigger that Rowan processed the humming that broke the eerie quiet of the area. The fox across from him fell back sputtering blood, writhing on the ground before its final moments of life escaped. The gunshot bounced off the walls of the alleyway buildings that were packed against each other, echoing into the distance much farther than Rowan would have liked.
He silently cursed the acoustics of the sewers before holstering his gun in the inside of his jacket, pulling a dagger out of his victim's hand as a token and stowing it away.
He ran out of the alleyway towards the area he had heard the humming, his eyes mirroring shock. "W-willow?" Rowan stammered, actually a bit surprised to see her. "Why are you here? We need to get out--damned gunner might get us," he said rushedly, glancing behind him quickly and taking her wrist firmly as he rushed away with her in tow.
Didn't even have enough time to take care of the corpse, he thought, scowling. Knowing that killing Willow also wasn't an option, he was now determined to escort her as far away from the area as possible.

Belle bit her lip, not wanting to leave, and stared at Umbra for a long moment before sighing and escaping out the side door behind the curtain. She made sure to lock it tightly behind her, holstering her dagger and brushing off her hands as she walked to the house. How Umbra had heard them arrive she couldn't say--Fantasies, as she found, were strange like that. Cedar approached her as she walked by, moving his face towards her clenched hand in hopes of food, to which she merely patting him on the head. She strolled into the house, the screen door shaking as it shut, and Fallow turned back.
"Y-you... you're Belle, right? The girl that like Draco?" She asked softly, her eyes wide and glossy. The corner of her mouth was pointed down and her lips were pressed together tightly when she wasn't speaking.
God, Jasper... what did you tell this girl?... Belle thought, smiling warmly and nodding. She stuck her hand out to Fallow and the young Fantasy timidly shook it. Her hands were eerily cold.
"Fallow. Dawn's mentioned you quite a lot--I wish I were as close to my siblings as you two are."

Marshall crept into the house from the back door, feeling a bit uneasy about not locking it. "Hey, Vi," he mumbled softly, sitting next to her on the couch and crossing his legs. "Has anyone else come back yet?"

"Sorry about that. Do put your sword away, Tony. It's making everyone uneasy and you and I work too closely to negotiate like demon children." She tapped the handle of her parasol. "I value the safety of our people dearly and, with the best interest, Mag needs healing as soon as possible. Us negotiating about her future is the worst we could do for her right now--although she wasn't quite thinking clearly either, and I doubt she'll even remember the casualties--so I say we just send these two off to go help her, yeah?"
Wither prodded Void's side with her foot lightly. He huffed and padded over to Dark, asking him where he needed to go with orange flecks beginning to concentrate in the air to prepare a portal.
"I'm sorry, did you say casualties?" Kaleidoscope chimed in harshly, her demeanor hardening once death was involved. "How many, Wither?"
The demon inhaled sharply and forced herself to meet Kali's gaze. "Two. An angel nurse was killed and a demon was injured. The demon is under care at the moment. I'll deal with the death--Tony deserves a rest after the events of today." She turned to him, tapping her foot idly. "We do have diplomatic matters to discuss, though. Preferably as soon as possible."

Wither lightly put a dismissing hand on Dark's right wing as she stepped in front of him, her formal smile eerie. "I don't believe that'll be necessary, Tony. Right now we need to get her into proper care and I'm certain she'll be fine once she wakes up--Dark mentioned a specialized healer. I'll take the, er... collateral damage and get that under control; Magnolia isn't responsible for this. I'm sure we have a protocol for possession and things like that."
Her hands laced together in front of her tightly. "After all, it wouldn't be the first time someone wasn't quite acting like themselves." Kaleidoscope's eyebrows furrowed and she met Wither's gaze sternly. "Tone it down--all of you," she said.

Belle raised her eyebrow and looked at Umbra. She was all for torture--and malicious people in general--but a large part of the interrogation Jasper had asked them to do was getting information. She simply stayed put and balanced her knife on one finger, curious as to what Umbra would do next.

The griffin landed silently in the front yard. Dawn raised a leaf and leaped on it, supporting Fallow by taking her hand and hip so that she could get down safely. "Come on, I'll show you inside. It's getting late anyway," Dawn said, readjusting her backpack and slipping her hand into her sister's. Fallow bit her lip and nodded, still trying to process the situation.
"Dawn," Fallow croaked softly as she entered the house, "I... I didn't even say goodbye. I'll worry them. I'm worried for them and--"
"Why, you must be the Fallow I've been hearing all about!" Jasper floated to the doorway and sank slowly, reaching out a hand to greet her. She stepped back in surprise at the hand and looked up, shock flooding her eyes. She began to shiver uncontrollably, her hand illuminated with a faint green glow. Dawn put her hands reassuringly on Fallow's shoulders, confused, and Jasper stepped back with his palms facing up.
"Whoa, whoa, whoa there--I'm not going to hurt you. Chill a lil', okay? I'm friends with Dawn." He smiled warmly. Fallow looked back at her sister and Dawn nodded reassuringly.
"Y-you... you're the evil bastard that's been attacking us!" She hissed, sinking back into her sister. Jasper sighed and rubbed his temples.
"Listen, Fallow, it's not like that--I promise. Here, sit down. You don't know everything about the people you're with. I hate to do this, but let me tell you more about Mavis." He sat on the back of the couch and gestured for her to follow him. She bit her lip and reluctantly sat.

Wither flinched when Kurai knocked her out but her face hardened and all emotion dispelled. Void brushed up against her ankle and she looked down at him. "You trigger this?" He asked, his tail swishing back and forth too calmly. Wither inhaled sharply and shrugged. "I don't think so. I'd hope not." She closed her eyes for a long time and rubbed her neck.
Memories of her father that she had pushed to the back of her mind filled her thoughts and she could very vaguely recall the demon military dabbling in mind control and experiments--which one Magnolia fell to, she couldn't say. Wither was sure that she had been playing off in a corner when that conversation had happened; she was only a mild eavesdropper as a child.

Kaleidoscope thought of Spectrum and fell silent, watching the cabin numbers as they passed by. She had barely caught a glimpse of the numbers when she peeked into Void's portal but she had a rough estimate that would suffice. She spotted Wither first, with her token parasol, and stopped next to her with her chest rapidly rising up and down. She nervously rubbed her eyes, "What happened while I was gone?"
Wither looked over her shoulder at Tony and her lips tightened.

"If we don't put the place on lockdown she would've executed more than just the two," Wither hissed back, nodding curtly at Void and eyeing the demon who had been attacked. Void bounded forward and pulled the demon through a portal to the infirmary, quickly closing it behind him. Wither walked up to Kurai and made firm eye contact with him--she couldn't look at Magnolia--and tightened her jaw. "We don't execute, Dark. I know Tony and he's not like that. But we need to fix this before anyone else gets hurt and you're the only one who has even the vaguest idea of what the f--k is going on, alright?" Her tone was steady and slow with a firmness that matched Kurai's anger.

Kaleidoscope paused for a split second, respecting Tony for being able to draw his sword so quickly, and began to dash through the hallways with only a brief gesture for him to follow her. "Magnolia snapped," she explained when she was sure he was behind her. "I don't quite know how. But we need you there."
Spectrum's voice tapped into Kaleidoscope's mind, "K-kali?... I hear the alarms. Are you okay? What's going on?"
I'll be there in a moment. Stay in the room, she replied, knowing that telling Spectrum the truth would only freak him out more.

Belle glanced back to make sure the barn door was locked and walked over to Maxwell, flicking on a scintillating fluorescent light directly in his face. She rested her knee on his side, pulling back his head to plunge the syringe in the side of his neck. She caught Umbra's face from the side, his grin plastered in her mind as she backed away and nodded at him to let him go first. She blushed as she pulled up her hair.

Wither huffed, already tired from the previous events of the day. "Void, go set off the lockdown alarm. Dark is in the training room, I want you to bring him." She took only five quick seconds to explain where the alarm was before running out of the door, sprinting to catch up with Magnolia. Her parasol was tightly gripped in her hand, her eyes narrowed.

"Don't do that," Kaleidoscope replied, her voice still firm. She stepped away from him, her hands folded tightly together in front of her. The alarms gradually grew louder until they began to blare, covering the room in an offputting red light. Void leaped out of a portal in his human form quite suddenly, "Oi, you--Magnolia's gone berserk. Get over here." He tightly grabbed Dark's arm and leaped through another portal, dragging him into a hallway just behind Wither.

It didn't take Kaleidoscope too long to run to Tony, but she couldn't help but worry that in even those few seconds worse had been brought upon them. It was times like these that she wished she could teleport like Void or Wither. She bent down and shook his shoulder violently, the loud screeches of the alarms hurting her ears.

Belle pulled back and walked beside Maxwell's body, Umbra's words making her blush. "It's not soundproof there, but it's blocked off from all light--we can just force him to be nocturnal. I haven't had the chance to torture, much less around this area." She worked the hatches on the barn door and opened it for Umbra as they approached it. It was hardly recognizable as a barn--pitch-black, musty, and smelling vaguely of rot. Belle gestured to the shackles facing the wall and flicked on a scintillating fluorescent lamp that shone directly at it. She pulled open a curtain near the corner of the barn, revealing several syringes and concoctions, and began to mess with them while Umbra shackled him.

Belle balanced the blade on her fingertip as she listened to Jasper speak. "You need both of us for this?" She asked, already knowing the reason--Jasper didn't trust Justin enough to handle such matters on his own. Jasper raised an eyebrow and flicked a finger, a strong gust of wind shoving Belle out of the house and against the railway. She turned back and swore at him before lugging herself off towards Maxwell. She stared down at him with her hands on her hips, recognizing him as Draco's brother, and scooped down to pick him up.

Jasper sighed--they never lasted as long as he expected they would. He released Maxwell, cocking his head and vaguely recognizing the human before him, striding back to the house and poking his head in. His demeanor had changed entirely. "Oi, Belle, Justin... both of you--get over here." There was a huff in the distance as Belle slouched to the living room, her eyebrow raised in unamusement. "What'd you do this time? Wait, before you complain, I know you stole one of my daggers you bi--"
He tossed it at her and disregarded her insults, spotting Justin in the corner and cutting her off. "There's a kid right outside of the house that I need you two to handle. He's part of that little group, you know what I'm talking about. Nature fantasy, maybe a halfie, but I'm sure you'll be fine. I want you to take him to that nearby barn, maybe do a little torture and figure out what he knows. Just don't let him out--hostage, kidnapping, whatever you want to call it. Can you handle that for me?"

"Oh, please don't be so harsh to each other," he mumbled, nervously scratching at Trauma. His own companion had raised his head in case Amaryllis decided to press too much (but it seemed Nanaki had beat him to it). "That'll be good," Cas replied. He didn't want to lie any more than he already had--the situation would only get even worse, and seeing Nanaki be harsh was enough on its own to shake him. "I just... I'll be better once we change bases, I promise," he said, mostly referring to Tony.

Wither swore, quite loudly, and dropped to the floor with her arms around Magnolia to keep her from shaking as well as she could. Void popped out of the room again with a portal and took five seconds before popping back in with his tail wrapped around an angel nurse's wrist. The nurse got on her knees and raised her hands, making eye contact with Wither. "Is she mentally stable?" Her voice was calm and steady.
"Y-yeah, she was just talking," the demon responded quickly. The nurse nodded, "Get away from her." Wither obeyed and the nurse pressed her fingers against Magnolia's temples, a rune of light forming above her face.
"It's a stabilizing spell," the nurse said to a very concerned Wither as she passed her hands over Magnolia's body, mumbling softly with eyes overcast by light.

Her expression remained unchanged and almost unamused. "Yes. Terribly so." Kaleidoscope offered a sad attempt at a smile and sighed before talking again. "Dar--Kurai, I mean. That's really sweet of you--I think you're very sweet, but I don't think we know each other well enough. Spectrum and I, we're going through a lot, and... well, she needs my help more than ever, and I need hers. Now isn't a good time for..." Her eyes were a bit pained and she circled her wrist around, "those kinds of things."

Jasper stuck his hand out, a strong gust of wind curling tightly around Maxwell. He clenched his teeth and the winds lifted the wolf up, slowly, and closed the gap in between them until Jasper's malicious blue eyes pierced through his soul. He tightened his fist and the air gradually began to pull from the wolf's lungs into what was an incredibly prolonged asphyxiation. "Not quite a normal wolf, I see," he murmured, his wind constraints tightening as he drew a blade and meticulously pulled back Maxwell's eyelids to point the tip incredibly close to the iris. He glared, inspected it closely, and stepped back.
"One of Mavis's little friends, I'm presuming? How did you find us?" Jasper snapped, sheathing his blade in favor for his staff.
