"Oh, hi, Emerald! And... Mordred, was it?" Fortem greeted, recognising the riolu and thievul from the last adventure as he turned his attention to the speakers. At least things were good enough for them to be talking somewhat respectfully... still, it was another sign of unrest.

Audax listened to the voices. Both made good points... He sighed. He thought it would be cool to live through a major historical event, but... not like this.

Clamor recognised Harringale's voice from a long way away. He bounded up before seeing he had been blocked by a thick crowd. He scanned the area, just looking around for now.

"I should get going... thanks Yung" Fortem smiled as he stretched, than hopped off the comfy bubble. He walked out the door with a nod. As he neared the castle, his ears picked up some noise... near the plaza. This was worth checking out. He changed directions and marched on over there.

While reading, Audax picked up a noise, seemingly coming from the plaza not far from the balcony he was standing on. Setting aside his book, he strained his ears to hear what was going on. Knowing the... situation, this couldn't be good, right?

Clamor's patrol had split up, heading back for the base. They hadn't been able to attain any useful information... the guards were stepping up their game. On the way back, passing the plaza, something was happening.... huh. He stayed to watch.

"Oh... I guess maybe you're right... thanks, Yung!" Fortem smiled gratefully as Yung began.

"Hmm... I don't think he specified anything..." Fortem pondered it. "Maybe he did have a reason..." He was worried that he had forgotten something.

"I guess you're right..." Fortem hesitated. "Sorry, I think I should go... It's getting late and I should be back at the castle by now."

After a while of just reading, Audax made his way to Thea's classroom. He poked his head shyly through the door. "Hello? I think you said I'm learning the next dark magic spell around now... that is, if you still have the time." He almost whispered.

Clamor's ears were on high alert, searching for any information that might be useful to them. He pulled out a berry and began to eat it: something to do so he wouldn't look so suspicious.

"I did," Fortem confirmed. "A little bit."

Clamor supposed they were correct. The sheer number of guards here meant they wouldn't be able to do anything significant except hurt their own forces.

Clamor followed the signal as he nonchalantly padded to the side to watch and think. He... was honestly still pretty lonely from the last time Luminia got attacked, and it was hard for him to make friends. He sighed, focusing back on his task.

"I agree," Fortem said to Yung. "They should be better off there for now..." He paused. "Dainn wanted me to see you and check up on you, actually. I saw Emerald earlier today, too."

"Oh..." Fortem's tail drooped. But, he supposed it would be better if the two of them weren't here in this chaos at all... "Kailua town... thats the one by the sea, right?" He quickly changed topic as he remembered exploring the water temple and meeting Tenko.

Clamor's group was approaching the park, and he noticed some of the guards glaring at them, as well as someone from the other republican patrols meeting up with them. Things were going well so far... he just needed to wait for the signal to either attack, spy or retreat.

"Ah, thank you..." Fortem lay down on it. He was touched by Emerald's words. "How about Azure and Hiro? Do you know where they are?" His tail bristled as he looked at the lucario, concerned.

Fortem quietly walked inside, and closed the door. "Yung!" He exclaimed. "How are you doing?"

"Thank you, Dainn," Fortem finally let a small smile cover his face, as Dainn exited. For the second time that day, he slipped on his cloak and bounded out one of the side exits of the castle. He stealthily made his way down the familliar streets he used to travel to get to Yung's house every few days. He was struck by nostalgia. Finally, he reached the house, and was dissapointed to see a few bits and pieces of things barricading it. Not losing hope, he gave a quiet knock on the door.

Audax just continued reading, his stress slowly trickling away at every phrase. Yet another reason to be thankful for books and knowledge... the theme of Luminia was a little bit sad to read about though. Where had they gone so wrong? Sure, the government wasn't perfect. That didn't mean things had to escalate this far...

Clamor felt his fur bristle with excitement. This could be it! This could be the message to the authorities that Clamor had always wanted to send: The system was flawed. The knights had treated him badly and no pokemon got a say in what they did except the knights and royalty themselves. Determined, he marched near the front of one of the patrols. The whole group was split up into about 5 smaller ones so as not to attract attention.

"Oh!" Fortem half shouted, half whispered as he was caught by surprise. Maybe it was a good idea... He was expecting to be reprimanded if he did so, but... that seemed like the opposite. "Okay, got it." Fortem tried to give Dainn a determined expression. He didn't know that the family meant so much to Dainn like it did to him. "I can go now, if you want..."

Audax was enveloped by the book as he tried to imagine what it might be like to live so long ago when tempest created the islands. What might he have been thinking when he made them? Why were the first pokemon come? It was questions and thoughts like these that came from reading that Audax loved about it so much.

Clamor's ears perked up as he heard different pokemon organising patrols. Something important was happening... some pokemon were going to scout around Sleipnir. Clamor quickly got up and padded over, silently volunteering to go.

Audax padded outside to one of the balconies. He could see most of the cloud island from here... the castle, the arena, the parks and the anthian district... now all divided by invisible lines. He sighed, trying his best to bottle up the thought as he began reading his book on Luminia's history. This was one hobby that usually calmed his nerves.

Fortem shrugged, averting his gaze. He could guess what Dainn was thinking about. To be honest, he himself didn't want to fight against the republicans much. There were so many innocents on either side... he just wished everything could go back to the way it was a year ago, being ruled fairly and getting to hang out with his friends.

Fortem would expect nothing less from an experienced knight. Dainn was very observant. "Nothing, I just went for a walk," He smoothly lied. "I was just... thinking about... you know," It was actually only half a lie. He did go for a walk, and he was thinking about the unrest in the city, but he just left out some details... which did add to his guilt, however.

Ah... of course, Dainn would be here to ask him about his trip. The firm, loud knock on his door was undeniably from the capitain of the knights. He hung up his dark brown coat, before opening the door nervously. He needed to come up with something to say on the spot. Luckily, he wasn't too bad at it. "Welcome, Capitain Dainn," Fortem greeted. He hadn't spoken one on one with the gallade for a long time, and he didn't know whether to use formalities or not. The current atmosphere sort of called for them, though.

Audax gave a small but relieved nod, pretty pleased that someone was on the same page as him about the situation. "I won't tell," Audax whispered. I... actually agree, he thought to himself, but didn't have the boldness to say it. After all, there were ears everywhere. "I should get going..." He wasn't actually sure where he would go afterwards, but he wanted to find somewhere to relieve his stress. He nodded at Thea before padding away.

Dainn had seen Fortem walk in, probably... great. Thankfully, no one else had. A a little cowardly, Fortem decided to avoid the situation by just returning to his room, which was near the main hall. When he listened with his sharp ears, he could still hear the makings of conversations. He knew eaves-dropping probably wasn't the nicest thing to do... but it was a smart and easy way to know the happenings of the city.

"Don't agree with...?" Audax's fur bristled uncomfortably. He had a few guesses about what his teacher was talking about, but he didn't want to assume anything. After all, he might miss out on some information... Either way, the use of powerful magic could really tip the scales in this war of sorts, and Audax wasn't sure if that would be a good thing.

Ah, a new recruit... Clamor liked to introduce himself to members he hadn't met. He actually knew the names of almost everyone in the room. It would be important for the people to work together to achieve their goals (that was the point of the republicans, to him), and it would be easier if they at least knew a little about each other. He flicked his tail as he watched the recruit speak to Harringale.

Fortem's heart sank as he watched Emerald pad away. What had happened to his positivity and energy? The situation seemed to have affected him greatly. He took a couple steps towards him, before halting, and turning back. Someone might realize he was out when he should be back in the castle... A rope of guilt seemed to squeeze around his neck as he padded away, not sure how to help his friend. As he approached the castle, he made a realization: was it his loyalist status that Emerald had left him for?

Audax sat back stressed and watched, not sure if he should say anything... "What are you doing?" He whispered as he paced uncomfortably. Strong dark magic... that had to be bad news for someone out there, probably the republicans...

Clamor nodded gratefully - it was hard to tell if it was greatful, but nevermind, hopefully Harringale got the message. He lay down on a beanbag chair and imagined what he'd say to someone about luminia's government if he could.

Fortem put a paw over Emerald. "It's going to be ok..." He didn't know if the words were for Emerald or for himself. He tried to give a reassuring smile. "How is everyone? Your dad? Azure?"

"What's going on?" Intrigued, Audax glanced at the book. He was fairly certain this had to do with the... current situation in Luminia. What else could it be?

Clamor nodded, surprised to be recognised. Though, it was probably for the fact that he couldn't speak rather than his fighting abilities or anything else...
