Breathing a short sigh of relief, Jasper was done with everything. The vulpix was now out of the roasting sun and in a state where it couldn’t harm anyone. Although this whole situation was bothering them. Could the trainer’s pokemon go feral? Could they go feral themself?

All these questions were things they didn’t want to ever have to consider, and the carelessness of the trainers was
starting to dig deeper under their skin. Jasper wandered over to Leilani, growling at Athena for no other reason than spite.

The alolan vulpix lay on the rocky path for everyone to see. The ice pokemon’s white fur was almost blinding in the hot sun. Jasper backed off slightly, stunned by the sudden flashbang, but quickly regained their composure. They carefully made their way up to the vulpix trying not to scare them.

Once they were close enough, they held their tail over the smaller pokemon to provide some comfort from the blazing sun. They lowered their head and quietly inquired as to how the vulpix had ended up here

Visk Tofana
"Every scar is an instruction. I just haven't decoded them yet"

Gender : Non-binary, He/They

Age : 27

Race : Kenku

Class : Artificer

Personality : Deceitful, Determined, Delusional

Being an outlaw in most places, he knows how to keep his identity secret. Instead of hiding his face suspiciously, they prefer to confuse people into believing he’s someone else. Hiding behind confidence and chains of gold he gains the trust of others to get what he needs. To those he genuinely trusts however, he’s fiercely loyal to a fault, willing to give his life for his friends even if they betray him. They see honour in standing by those who have stood by him before. He clings to the idea that he was uniquely chosen for suffering. That every bad thing that happens to him is a trial to refine them into something greater.

As their delusions have gotten worse over time, he’s become convinced that everyone is watching him. That his name travels through whispers. This leads to paranoia–and bold, performative decisions. They feel unpredictable, but every moral shift is a reaction to the situation. To him, justice is personal.

Appearance : A plague doctor mask covers his face obscuring his eyes. He wears a choker with a small bottle of blue sand and 2 gold chain necklaces, one of which carries the crescent pendant of Pieridea, the deity he believes chose him. His outfit is one of a pirate captain, which he stole from the actual captain of his ship. The jacket itself is black with gold accents, which is usually just draped over their shoulders, with their waistcoat being a deep maroon with gold buttons. They carry around a black walking stick with a gold, rounded top.

Backstory : The guards dragged Visk forwards, his arms raw and eyes left stinging from tears. A mob of faces blurred with rage, their voices a cacophony of anger directed at him. But a still, calm image pressed against the borders of the crowd. Their best friend. The one who should be up here instead. He hadn’t set off the explosion. He knew it. They both knew it. But those eyes didn’t speak. They begged. They told a plea of desperation that was engulfed in the crowd around him. He could have fought. Could’ve shared the truth, but the oath sworn that they’d stand up for each other was all that he could think of. The world became quiet. Chains tightened around his wrists. And he closed his eyes as he fell into oblivion.

The cave swallowed him whole, an unmarked drop into darkness that scrambled his thoughts and fractured something inside his skull. When he woke, days—possibly weeks-later, the world had changed shape. Reality bent oddly at the edges, and in the twisted quiet, a temple rose before him like a relic of forgotten gods. The markings carved into its walls spoke to him, whispered visions of wings and sky, of a destiny that made sense only within his broken mind. He believed he was chosen. He believed he would fly.

When Visk emerged from the cave, the forest met him with flames. Fire tore through the trees like a tsunami destroying everything in its wake. The fire warped around his limbs and scarred his skin in char. Within the treetop canopies the fire rippled between the branches and dripped down its molten passion. In the fiery display, a memory shot through his head like fragments of broken glass. His family. They were still in the woods. He ran through the woods, shouting names that only came out as a whisper. That was when he saw it. The house he’d known, the people who loved him, all reduced to ruin. Although the pain from the burns finally overtook him, he could have sworn he heard his brother next to him once the flames calmed down. Then there were the notes, all written from family members while he recovered in a nearby town. On them were writings detailing how they’d fled before the flames destroyed their home and how they were so lucky his brother had found him in time. But it was wrong. The house was nothing but ash-he saw it! He didn’t need false hope right now. He needed vengeance.

They lived, but in his mind, they burned.

The crimes were real: arson, terrorism, chaos wrapped in firelight and fury. He chased down the ones who had tried to kill him, and in doing so, branded himself a criminal. His capture was inevitable. Shackled and bruised, he was awaiting execution from the depths of a ship. But the sound he knew all so clearly rang through every corner of the ship-explosives. A band of pirates had stormed the convoy transporting him, throwing all of the crew overboard. He fit their chaos like a blade to a sheath and was welcomed as a part of their crew.

After struggling to make it up the barrier, Jasper finally clawed their way over. Climbing was never their strong suit, and it was a little embarrassing showing it in front of these new people. They rolled over onto their back and noticed something strange. The Tsareena was blocking something a little ways away. Something didn’t feel right about this, but they needed to get closer to figure out what.

Feeling a pull of curiosity, they slowly made their way over to Leilani’s pokemon to investigate.

Jasper leaped off the table and followed the others outside. They couldn’t contain their energy, weaving in between the townsfolk towards route 13. Just the mention of an adventure was exhilarating and they hadn’t realized how much they’d been aching to go one again. The sun beaming through the layers of leaves, the wisp of long grass airily blowing in the wind. It was a feeling like no other. But it wasn’t the same without the steady rhythm of footsteps beside their own.

All these years trying to find a sense of normalcy. To feel that connection again. This was the chance they’d been looking for. They ran along the edge of the path feeling the brush against their side as they made their way to the front of the group.

After seeing an abundance of new trainers all flocking into the tavern, Jasper was intrigued. No one new had come to the island in years, what were they doing here? Finally feeling comfortable enough, they entered the tavern.

The place was very busy, making it a little difficult to weave through the labyrinth of people unseen. Jumping between tables and ducking under chairs, they found themselves at the back near the newcomers. They jumped onto one of the stools to listen better to figure out what they were up to.

Name: Jasper

Age: 21

Gender: Male

Pronouns: They/Them

Appearance: They are the usual Leafeon colors except for the green being more of a deep sea green. The very edge of the ears and tail have a slight red gradient. They have a red ribbon tied around their left foot.

Personality: Uninterested in most social situations, preferring to listen and observe than engage. They do, however, like to bother other Pokémon who enjoy being alone. They’re very calm and kinda grumpy (because they don’t sleep very well) but can be energetic and playful with trainers they know.

Backstory: The main partner for a someone working for Team Rocket. They were released onto the island once their trainer realized they were about to be arrested. Even though it’s been years, they still believe their trainer will come back.
